Dies between 2 - 3.5k?

hi all,

new engine in the mito now (02 in a 99 frame).

now ive done 120 miles on it so far and top end revs its fine but i cant pull away on low revs a sit goes to die (below 6k).

Now when the bike is in netrul if you open it up from idol (about 1800rpm) at ful throttle it will die instantly and make a wallowing noise....buy if you open it up graduly it is fine?

its an RS125 phbh carb 28mm.

idol jet 65
main jet 128
needle clip 2 from top.


just rememberd today it was like it was hitting a limiter sometimes at 8-9k ish at full wack but seemed to clear...is it crap in the carb?

as regards to the low end ive ajusted the mixture and screwed the idoler screw clockwise, with no improvement.

i thought at 1st it was to lean but a mate who i ride with ay eveytime i give it some power loads of blue smoke clouds the road (yes i know its a 2st) but he says it stinks of fuel?

baffled on this one?

One of my friends has exactly the same problem with his mito evo11. It just won't pull off, but will idle ok. I'll be watching this thread like a hawk.

Don't know much about the bike but the jet sizes look a bit large. Idle jet is around 45(?) and main is 120(?) as standard. Do you have any mods to the bike, exhaust, filter?

Idle speed should probably be closer to 1500 rpm.
