Oil change - Been sat for 3 months.

Hi,

Due to me going away and bad weather, my Z750 has not been ridden since the end of September.

I've done about 4000 miles since its last oil change.

Thing is, I need to get the bike its first MOT, so I am going to have to ride it soon.

Normally I change the oil when I put the bike away for winter, but this year I have forgot to do so.


Am I best doing an oil change without starting the engine first (I normally I let it run for a few minutes so the oil comes out quickly).
I guess I could leave it for a day or so to make sure all the oil is out.

Or would you risk strating it, knowing the oils been sat there for 3 months and is not fresh oil.

I tend to worry about things like oil, wheras I know others do not.

Just start it and leave the old oil in, 3 months is nothing.

Yeah, 3 months is nothing. Just change the oil at 6000 miles as usual.

The oil will have been under Saudi Arabia for a few million years, a month or two either way will not make much difference.
