Is that in the Leek / Buxton neck of the woods?
I'm off to Mac now actually, had no snow at all down south so I'm looking forward to a bit of the white stuff!

Completely awesome! I very much approve Thumbs Up

I'm pretty sure that my last proper ride of 2009 was 6 hours on my CG from Essex, getting lost in London and finally making it back down to the coast to get home. That's if you discount going to the shops just the once after that - it's very important to have enough pizza and alcohol on new years eve.

Biking is so much more dangerous with all this ice around which in many ways can make it seem all the more adventurous and exciting but it's just so painful without the right equipment. Bring on the spring I say, I hope this winter doesn't last too long.

Oh, and of course bring on another year of biking. Here's to 2010.

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

Wow, nice one. Ride safe but more importantly ride warm!! I've been trying but failing at avoiding long distances recently, I find it impossible to keep my hands warm. And you're on the motorway I assume. And get some sleep! (not that I ever get much sleep before long rides).

Edit: Oh you said south east not south west. Where abouts are you riding all that way to?

Every one and a half hours isn't bad, it's normally between half an hour and an hour for me! And there's lots of snow about today so maybe tomorrow will be a better day to try it anyway. Good luck.
