Yamaha Wr125 advice.

Hey, my cbt expired and ive finally got round to redoing it on tuesday. I have a xt125 which isnt even a year old i brought from new,i was thinking about buying the wr125,because like a month after i brought my xt125 i saw the wr125.Ive seen a few people who own one,but is it really worth splashing out like nearly 4 grand for it?
My xt really pisses me off with the manual choke and not being fuel injected its a bastard to get going on cold mornings,and you have to leave it to warm up for ages otherwise it will just cut out while idileing at lights or something.
Does anyone know the top speed of the wr125?
Pissed off as my xt125 only does just like 64mph.
Aparently you dont need to leave it to warm up as its fuel injected and generally goes alot better,and faster?
I want something a bit faster i was thinking getting the wr125 and putting a exhaust on it.I want something which does like minimum 70 really.
It was either that or i was looking at the aprillia rs125,or mx125, or the yamaha yzf-r125.

If you've got 4K to splash out on a 125, you may as well take your mod 1 and 2, or your DAS depending on your age, and you'd still have plenty of money left over for a good condition 250 - 1000 Thumbs Up

You could take your test and get a wr250 for 4k much more fun.

nah fuck that i dont know enough to do the test ill do it probs when my cbt expires again...i aint that smart so ill have to practise for ages..and to be ohnest 70-80 mph is fast enough its more than your legally aloud to do...so im happy with a 125 for a few years...

It's not just a question of what you're legally allowed to do - it's how the bike feels when you're doing it. With a 125cc 4 stroke you're going to be near maximum revs and quite straining the engine, while something bigger is more just 'bimbling' not putting the engine under much stress - giving a nicer ride and being better for the engine.

I presume you've got a decent amount of money about, but even so I'd reckon it's worth spending a bit of time to open up the option of buying a cheaper bike that will be a lot more suitable - and I suspect probably a fair bit more enjoyable to ride.
