Hey guys,

Had my bike written off xmas day, insurers are sorting out a hire bike, which they said was a Bandit 650.

Ive not really ridden an IL4.. Ive had the GS500, ridden V twins...never this though.

What differences are there to expect, I just dont want to go off like i did on the GS if its going to be totally different.
Whats the handling like, braking etc?

Cant ride it for 3 weeks, but ive got till end of Feb apparently?

Any info on this, apparently its a 58 plate if that makes the model any different...

I owned a GS500 then went to a Bandit 600, It put a smile on my face but is not like jumping onto a sports 600 from a 500.

Good for about 125mph, better brakes than your GS500,

It will be a fair bit heavier, enjoy it, hire bikes are great you can rag the shit out of it... Thumbs Up

Personally i want to look after it Razz I dont want to have to explain the huge dents and trashed bits Wink
Should i expect more power like down low? accelerating wise..

probably abit more steam top end or what seems that way, should be a bit smoother all round though

power on the bandit 600 i had was all above 6k

I was loaned a 600 Bandit after a bike shop damaged my Yamaha XT600 single years ago, and the swap from a bottom endy bike to a top endy bike caused a few twitches at first, but it's nothing you can't get used to after a few miles. And I'd imagine the transition from GS to Bandit would be far less of an eye opener than it is when you're climbing off a wheezy thumper. Shocked Embarassed

It was quite a good experience actually. Took the loaner away on holiday with me to the West Country and found that despite being a single cylinder enthusiast, I could quite get used to the whole IL-4 thang. So though I never wound up actually owning a Bandit, I have had some good times on 4's of me own. Smile
