I picked one up along with a dual injector for the 9, It's staying in the box till probably wednesday though, the fact that it has a oil level gauge on the display had me sold, hopefully it'll be a little less prone to oiling the left side of the tyre like my last vSystem was too Wink

I am just finalising the review to go on Bikechatter in the next couple of days. Overall its bloody good and has done its job better than I expected + with the accelerometer sorting out the static metering I think it deserves a full thumbs up.

Review will be on the site on tuesday if you want to check in.

Cheers.
What price did you guys pay for yours and do you think it is worth the money?
I can't use the suction type scotoiler on my bike so it's either go for the e system or continue manually lubing the chain everyday

Not experience, have considered but incredibly expensive for the useful function really.

Waiting for a new valve for my 'DIY' system - if it works, reckon I would have an electric system with adjustable flow control working for around £30.

I got mine from my local Hein Gericke since they had a 10% of everything deal, paid a few pence over 200 quid for the eSystem and Dual injector together, a tenner or so more than ebay but eh, got to support the high street somehow Wink

I've run vSystems on my previous 2 bikes and they were both worth every last penny, not only is it nice not having to manually oil the chain, but they seem to last a lot longer with an automatic oiler on them, fling is a non issue too, whilst scottoilers can be a bit mucky, it cleans off in seconds with a half decent degreaser. The only problem I've found with the old vacuum oiler was it's tendency to oil the side of the tyre as the weather warmed up.

www.loobman.com Much cheaper than £160 for an electronic scottoiler. Smile

Did they give you the scottoiler for free and if so, wouldn't that mean that your reviews aren't impartial?

Ste, the reviews are impartial but the products are always given free. Take a look through the site and you will see each product gets equal portions of praise and criticism where due. The idea behind this is that consumers actually prefer to read about a products faults and it actually works against a product when other sites give a faultless rating in exchange for advertising/politics etc.

We do not allow copy proofing before publishing and all reviews are undertaken with the understanding between reviewer and supplier that we feedback warts n all and so far we have grown from a little pip of a site to over 270,000 unique visitors a month - Google rankings are all pretty much top 5 too and now we have even more products coming through for 2010.

Have a look at the chain oiler category for the existing reviews on the V-System and the Cameleon oiler : https://www.bikechatter.co.uk/chain-oilers.html

Jamie, I will be selling my cameleon oiler that came off my bike for £25+ postage. its ready to go but needs a couple of cable ties to fix it securely.

The only problem with it is that the delivery tube is green but you probably would not notice when its on - to buy they are $200.00 + postage so its a bargain. The review is also on Bikechatter

It's ok, sorted an E system, managed to get one for £160, offered the seller that through ebay.
I also see it has a built in temp gauge which is rather cool.

I got a temp gauge for £10 for my KTM - does min, max as well as current for temp and humidity.
The farkliness of the esystem does, sadly, appeal, but I really couldn't justify that much money personally.

One thing I'm kind of hoping is that given the oil level gauge, scottoiler will have been smart enough to stop it from running itself dry when the levels get low, whilst the Futura wasn't too bad, the SP1's vSystem was horridly slow to reprime itself.

Seb, I think the computer stops the pump operating when it gets to 25% or less (from what i remember). I wouldn't think though that you would miss the top ups with the display being so good.

(I bet it makes everyone want to check their G's while riding Very Happy Very Happy )

I was interested in the eSystem but when the guy in HG told me the price I bought a NIB 'mk7' one off eBay for £40, it's worth looking about if you really want a Scottoiler as there are some bargains to be had while there's still some old ones left.

Is this for the DT jamie? Surely you could buy 3-4 c&s Kits for the DT for £160 seems like false economy to me.

Loobman is a waste of money IMO I got 100 times the amount of oil on the bike, floor and over me than I did on the chain.

The bike gets used daily.

Personally that review didn't read as impartial to me.
It read like someone who wanted to get more free stuff to my mind.

G, you cant please everyone. Theres no more free stuff to have from scottoiler as we have had all their units.

At the end of the day that is my personal experience of it, I think its bloody awesome, if you think I dont say what I think about products have a read of the becker sat nav review : https://www.bikechatter.co.uk/gps-navigation/1005-becker-crocodile-z100-review.html

If it had been shit or had a fault I would have said so, if there had been as much fling from it as on the crocodile or the v-system I would have said so...

** Just to add, on the sat nave review I am still expecting to get sent their next version of the unit despite reporting a number of issues, the same goes with all the products I review which I have reported issues with - nothing is perfect **

BH, are you using a single injector and do you find it is oiling both sides of the chain equally?
