...finally my cheap as alarm kit arrives from HK today Karma

I just wanted a dead simple alarm that beeps if the bike is moved or sat on (f##k1n tourists). I'd have liked a wee LED to flash but this one is soo cheap it doesn't have that!...

So the alarm is here and it's got the red wire to connect to the red terminal (+) and the black wire to connect to the (-) negative Thumbs Up So far so good Thumbs Up

That should be me done... but oh noes it also has a Blue wire that is labelled "Head Lock"...

Okay I can/could and should ignore it. But it's getting the better of me now. The one page manual says nowt. The fob has a remote engine start button so I'm guessing this is what the blue wire is about. Which won't work with my Triple 'cos you have to pull the clutch to start it...

Hmmmnz, any ideas where I can attach this blue wire on a 2005 Speed Triple Question It would be nice if it did something...

it'll just be a momentary switched output, either positive or negative (usually positive tho) just meter it. Basically for as long as you hold the "start" button down the blue wire will have volts on it. So you could for instance (for a laugh) connect it to the horn so you can remotely activate that (that should shit the tourists up) If you wanted to run A higher current item just run it through a relay SmileSmile

I just like the thought of having an alarm, my bike is always parked close enough to my house that id be able to hear it and run out to sort the chavs out. seems like it has all the basic features you would need to stop any petty theft or at least scare them away from trying.

Right, hooked up the alarm to the bike in 2 minutes. tried it out. Fairly decent sound when sat on or moved. However... I would like to wire it in properly so that when the ignition is on the alarm automatically disarms or is activated-forcing me to deactivate it. This is to stop me riding off with the alarm going Laughing

Apart from my wish to wire it up properly..I'd buy another Karma

^ No idea. My installation consisted of attaching a couple of ring connectors; one to the red and one to the black wire. Then bolting these to the battery terminals. Job done Laughing

what do you want the remote wire to do??
as stated you could get it to start the bike, beep the horn, i could probably come up with a circuit that could deliver a high voltage shock.... (low current, not dangerous, just a fright)

That is the point. If someone is willing to cut a wire on your bike they are determined enough to just shove it on a trailer and take it whether you have an alarm or not. I just wanted something to bleep if a tourist sits on it or it's moved Evil or Very Mad

ok, so my alarm came in the post today smaller then I thought but meh Razz having a few issues, I have it wired up to my cbr600 at the moment the blue wire is just left hanging as the carbs are out and I don't want to tick the bike over by mistake on the remote start Razz

I'm having an issue with the sensitivity settings by default it is just not good enough and even a hard knock wont set it off unless its directly above the unit I can't seem to use my remote to get into the sensitivity stage selection mode wondering if any of you have managed to do this or if you could try it for me?

This is what the manual tells me to do
https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y189/Ragnaco/2010-01-19181231.jpg

This is their remote
https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y189/Ragnaco/2010-01-19181151.jpg

This is mine
https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y189/Ragnaco/2010-01-19181118.jpg

Anyone got any ideas? It seem's any dual button pressing options the manual tells you to do, do not work for me on both remote's am I pressing it wrong?
I tried both the manuals image remote and my remote buttons for the mode selections, nothing.
Thanks in advance
Ragnaco

f##k the alarm dude, you need to see a doctor if you hands are THAT yellow! Laughing

Back on topic; I'm happy with the alarm I bought and was about to buy another, but... the seller hasn't come back re my question.. "Are the alarm/fobs on unique frequencies?". If I buy another will I disarm any bikes fitted with this cheapo alarm or are the fobs unique to each alarm Question

bad lighting (energy saving bulbs) and oily hands I'm afraid + a crappy phone camara

Would you care to test to see if you can put the alarm in to the sensitivity select stage?

i have a very similar alarm on the rs.(though it does have a little red led. Thumbs Up )
looks like its wired right into the starter relay, as its got the immobiler function + remote start.
looks like its been done professionally, as its very tidy + its wired in a manner which would be above most diy'ers.
i fitted something similar to a previous bike.
+ it really was just a matter of connecting it to the battery + cutting into the loom as per the poorly translated instructions.
recommended as a cheap deterrent.
cheers,
GAZ

No, it's ok I figured it out, apparently their meaning of 3 seconds is really about 10, stood there holding it for ages and managed to keep it to change sensitivity, now even a ant walking on it will set it off, 10 minutes after getting it all sorted some wierdo walks down my garden and starts looking at the bike without even knocking on my door, sets the alarm of and just keeps looking at it, I walk out and ask what he's up to, the cheek of him he just starts asking what am I doing with the bike, "its not taxed or mot'ed mateeeee" (how does he know...) and just keeps asking if I'm selling it...
I think I'll be keeping an eye on that..
