Reet,
It's my birthday coming up in March (my 21st) and "under the influences" at the start of this year, I came up with the concept of a joint Wrestling themed birthday party with my mate, who's birthday is a week before mine.
Now this was all well and good, before I realised that it would mean having to spend the entire night dressed like this.
https://fast1.onesite.com/fans.wwe.com/user/fanscompany/extremes_roster/5e8fc436994b073dcca201115e9738e6.jpg
To some this may seem like nothing daunting, but to an extremely out of shape, junk food eating student. It's the most horrifying thing ever. I could in theory change the costume BUT I am well known for my enthusiasm for Ultimate Warrior and this being my final year as a student, I want to go out with a bang and show these turbo headed gym freaks what is means to be a true WARRIOR!
Now I haven't left this all till the last minute, oh no. When I started my quest for fitness I was 13 stone and had the solid beer gut of a man twice my age and in a true "get a six pack in 3 weeks" style.
Here is my before (guy with the grey top):
https://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs108.snc1/4623_207456730421_619805421_7136826_3638719_n.jpg
Here is my now:
https://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs043.snc3/13067_317402800701_624060701_9709403_3520923_n.jpg
I have managed to cut down to 11.5st, well I HAD before Christmas so today will determine my current weight. The problem I am facing is that while I look a lot slimmer, I still have a gut, and when coupled with tight underwear and tassels, it's going to look awful.
I am not after "abs" or a ""6 pack", I really just want a flat stomach (for the first time in my life) and the ability to look good semi naked. Although I am aware that this costume could make even the most toned of men look terrible.
So what bike chat do you advise?? Do you have any stories of getting fit in under 2 months?? Is it even possible?? What food SHOULD I be eating??
Let the piss taking commence!
P.S. This is NOT some kinky fetish. |

Eat healthy and hit the gym.
I'm sure they'll be some experts along in a minute, but personally I tend to eat sensibly and cycle a couple of times a week. This gives me the skinny runt look. ____________________ My Flickr |

Unfortunately the hardest bit of fat for a bloke to lose is his gut, it can take months and months. To do it in 2 months i'd reccomend being on a 1500 calories a day diet and interval training.
Eat 6 light meals a day rather than 3, so have breakfast then mid morning have maybe a handful of nuts, salad for lunch, mid afternoon have a bit of fruit and then for dinner low fat meat like chicken with salad. Oh and also have no alcohol what so ever, especially lager or ale as it has a chemical in it that slows down your metabolism. Yes it's boring and will make you grumpy but it's the only way to do it really.
For gym work do about 10-15 minutes on the treadmill but do a jogging speed for 1 minute then sprint for a minute and alternate for 10-15 minutes. You can apply this to the cycling and rowing by doing fast row/cycle then a steady pace. Combine that with drinking lots of water and the fat will fall off.

Sounds like it to me I have to make effort to eat enough food to prevent myself wasting away, I also do incredibly low amounts of exercise (something which I am trying to improve).
I have prob gone days on 1500 but there is no way I could go to the gym on one of those days. |

You make a fair point about microwave dinners Also a cheap way to get calories is cereal for me.
I can't agree with you that high protein foods fill me up though. And even if I am full I will be hungry again soon.
Lets not hijack this exercise thread, although If you are hoping to bulk up at all (muscle wise) I would advise on more than 1500, from the pic it didnt look like you had much fat left on you. |

Ive posted my advice on this topic several times before so do a search.
One thing I will state is that if you want to lose the gut then you must completely abstain from alcohol of any kind. That includes a couple of cheeky ones on a friday night.
I remember meeting up with my mates in the pub of a weekday and the shame of ordering a pint of ice water instead of a manly pint of Kronenberg. Still, my jeans were falling down my arse and I needed a belt done up to the tightest to keep them on after two weeks of strict dieting and hardcore excercise. I would have got even more buff had I not poisoned myself along the way and spent 3 days shivering whilst guessing which end to point at the toilet. It's taken a long time to be able to eat the same sorts of food without getting the sensation of broccoli + chicken vomit.
I move house soon so money allocated to shoping is going to be for good stuff only i.e no junk plus the gym will be 10 mins walk away, so I can easily see me doing 5 times a week there. Thus I intend to get buff like never before, might even keep a progress report on BCF for shits an gigs.
So in summary - stay away from the beer at all costs.

Eat less.
Move more.
For losing body fat I'd suggest you don't really want to go above 150bpm as that's going into aerobic/anaerobic training territory which won't do a lot for fat loss.
Eat around 2000 calories daily and do around 500 calories worth of exercise (45 minutes of moderate cycling would do etc.)
As has been stated earlier in the thread, eat VEGETABLES AND PROTEIN with the occasional fruit and nuts thrown in, try and abstain from too many carbohydrates, a slice of bread once a day, pasta meal once a week or cereal in the morning is fine.
Try and take some supplements too, multivitamins etc. . ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

A wrestling themed party is easy, just go as a sumo wrestler.
You've got a bit over three months to get yourself up to the size of a genuine sumo wrestler, if you work hard enough towards your target then you should be able to do it.
https://www.hhs.gov/web/images/sumo2.png
Going as a sumo wrestler also has the advantage that you won't have to dress like a weirdo and you won't have to use make up. |

You should go as James May instead, would be much more convincing And your mate would make a great Screech!
Guts are a bit of a bugger to get rid off. Id go hardcore and base all my excercises round the abdominal area. And just avoid fatty foods. Whack some creatine into you for the hell of it - will enable you do do that extra set of sit ups etc.
Out of interest which design of face makeup do you intend to sport? |

Thanks for the replies so far, I've had a good laugh!
I weighed myself today, the good news is, I am the same weight I was before Christmas! So in 3 weeks I haven't gained or lost anything, which I am pretty chuffed with (I didn't do any exercise).
I'm taking what everyone said into consideration, obviously my gut is my aim area, I am not fussed about arms and whatnot.
I've drank 2 litres of water today, not sure if that's enough but I will continue to drink it regular. The only downside is that I am pissing like a police horse.
Food wise I still need to get the hang of, I have healthy foods in but eating at regular times has always been a ballache for my because I am all over the place, so I need to sit down and work something out.
Siftyb38:
As my mate is doing Hulk Hogan, I am going for the wrestlemania 6 look I think.
Also you wouldn't believe how many times people have compared me to James May! |

I managed to put on over a stone in the last few weeks!
What I've found works well for me (and I'm be starting to do now) - eat regularly, five meals a day for me is generally manageable.
The night before I sort out the 'day time' meals for the next day - at the moment I have two chicken salads and two sandwiches (three slices of meat for protein) - which I then munch every two and a half hours at work.
Generally have a low-calorie ready meal when I get home (not a diet one, just an ok one that happens to be fairly low in calories). Add in a protein shake straight after doing weights etc.
It's not just about the number of calories, but the type - I try and go for 40% protein, 40% carbs, 20% fat. I don't adhere to it that strictly, but got a good idea of what's needed when I was first doing it.
Apparantly it's best to do something like three days on low calories, then a day on higher calories to prevent your body going into a 'starvation mode' - I tend to do more 5/2 as I find it much easier to follow this at work than at weekends. If I'm being good, at weekends I'll still be quite controlled - will cook a spag-bol with a low calories sauce and only have a bit of pasta each time, maybe a subway in there too.
If you include the deficit from extra work done at the gym, can often get it to a decent bit under 1000 calories a day without feeling too hungry or lethargic etc. |

I lost over two stone from January to the end of April last year.
Doesn't sound amazing, but that did include a weekend where I ate 2 1/2 large dominos and two tubs of ice cream to myself.
Then there was this...
https://gees.zenfolio.com/img/v7/p1014302890-4.jpg
Despite using mostly lean meat and 'whole' ingredients, that weekend was definitely an 'off' one (no, I didn't eat it all!) |

depend if you want to replace the fat with muscle, or just lose the fat.
to lose fat, eat 1500 calories a day, mainly protein, and buy some multivitamins to make sure your getting all the right stuff.
then jog for 45-60 mins in the morning, and same again in the afternoon. drink shit loads of water as it will speed up you metabolism.
for muscle.
2500 calories a day, shit loads of protein though. buy some protein bars, multivitamins, creatine and glutamine.
jog for 45 mins in the morning to burn some fat, then hit the gym.
when you hit the gym lift as much as you can for as long as you can then stop for 5 mins, then repeat 3 - 5 times.
eg. say you can bench 200lbs max.
do as many reps at 180lbs as you can, then take a min break.
do as many chin ups as you can till you cant lift your self any more, take a 2 min break then repeat 3 - 5 times
etc.
