I will always have a place in my heart for small Scooters, but i need something more... Me, rather than keeping with the 'in crowd'. My cbt runs out in june, so it would pay off for me to pass my test and be restricted to 33 bhp for 2 years. I apologise for lack of punctuation as i am writing this on my phone. Anyway, to the point. I'm into my classics. Brit and jap. I love the look of the new royal enfield bullet, yet i'm drawn toward the larger capacity honda cb's and cbx's. Kawasaki h2's are nice too even though they're hard to come by. The problem is, i dont want something that's going to be too heavy when restricted. Can anyone advise?

I hope you have lots of money for tastes like that!

I spent most of my restriction on more shitters than classics. Old 80's gear like XS400's, SR5250's and MZ's. This sort of thing come up on ebay and can be had for a few hundred normally. True "classic" rides are fetching rather silly prices these days. For any old brit it seems to be at least a 1.5-2k regardless of condition in a running state. The prices only rise from there......

I'd go for an MZ301 (if you can find one). IMHO, ideal for someone on a restricted license who wants something 'different' yet reliable. On the down side, it's becoming more difficult to obtain spares.

The Indian Bullets are nice...but probably not robust enough to cope with the hustle and bustle of daily commuting. I like the look of the Classics too - bar the ridiculous front disc. I doubt they'd withstand endless battering over potholes through British winters, though...
