Hi

I've seen a nice Arai lid in my local Hein Gericke, it's one of last years discontinued models £349 reduced from £499.

Now, before i buy it, i want to make sure i can get a tarty visor for it. Laughing

Looking around, i've seen on www.racevisors.com that they stock "Caracoat" visors that are £55

Whats so special about Caracoat for them to be so expensive, and are they any good??

just look like super reflective tints? £55 is pricey tho

good luck swappin visors tho, i think u need some sort of qualification or summin to be able to do it easily

All the Arai visors are the same(full face) fitment so even if the helmet is discontinued the visor will fit all the other helmets. So I doubt you wil find any reduced.

A word of warning though unless you REALY want an iridium visor I would opt for a black one, as Iridium ones are coated and are very easy to scratch/mark. The black ones are actually made black and not coated so the first scratch wont remove the finish.

As for changing visors, its easy so easy you can remove one and put another on in 20 seconds easyely once you have got used to them.

I went for a black visor aswell. Because my bike is my only mode of transport and thus my kit gets used a lot, for me an iridium visor would probably get very tatty very quickly Neutral

i know www.thevisorshop.com do visors for arai's, they do lots of different colours and tints, but i'm not sure of prices etc. Also it's a shop based in Ireland so not all of the visors they sell would be considered road legal over here Wink

I've had an Arai RX7-XX for years now, had a Quantum II before that. I always fancied an irridium visor when they first started appearing but when i looked at them I discovered they're just a clear visor with a fancy coating. Now I dont know about anyone else, but I prefer a dark visor to give a bit of shade from the sun so an irridium isn't going to give me that, nor is it going to last as long. I still have the first dark visor I bought for the Quantum. Its over 10 years old now and although it has a few scratches Its still good enough to wear without causing problems. I got a new visor when i got the rx7xx but I tend to just swap the visors over when one needs cleaning. I just put soapy kitchen towel on the dirty one & leave it for a couple of days to soak in, then polish it with autoglym. comes up like new every time.
