Pretty impressive that it's only happening now in Coventry as it's been like that for lots of the country for a couple of years.
Possible reasons for bins not being emptied... bin too full, bin not close enough to the edge of the road, bin too heavy, bin has got rubbish bags on the ground next to it. Then they won't take your recycling boxes if they think there's anything at all wrong.
You can get an industrial sized wheelie bin on contract that's emptied weekly or monthly for a lot less than the ~£1,200 council tax that gets your bin emptied every other week. |

| Quote: | Can you get itemised bill?
I mean if they want to charge you money, then surely you have a right for an explicit bill showing what you have paid for. Not a general "here is our budget" affair but a proper receipt for your money.
I believe this is used by people who don't like paying the council tax as an argument against. I must say that I quite like it, while I think it is fair to pay for the benefit of the public services, an actual breakdown of what you are paying should be mandatory.
I doubt you would be happy to give me money in return XYZ services and the bill merely stated "stuff". |
You can't get an itemised bill, to be honest, you are lucky to even get a receipt, thats what bugs me the most given the massive amount of money.
From experience, I have found that if you don't have a receipt then there isn't a lot to stop that company/person from claiming they haven't had the money from you, and coming after it.
Councils are generally the worst for losing stuff. After all, the money you send is just virtual; numbers on a computer screen, easily disappeared.
In my opinion, you get very little to nothing for that money, its just another tax that gets poured into a big pot and wasted.
Would take the rubbish to the tip myself as it would be loads less hassle than juggling different types of wastes and trying to make it fit in the bins.
No point of course because they would still want paying. ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |
