Small Fueling problem

Hi guys, i have a small fueling problem with my Honda VFR400 NC30 1989 Model, i think its to do with the reserves tap, sometimes, i can be going along, all of a sudden bike starts to shudder and lose power as if petrol has ran out? happened a few times with a full tank? so i turn reserves on, it seems to work fine, then the other day it did it again so i turned the tap from on back to off, and works fine again, its just every now and again it does it, could it be my fuel pump or just a bit of muck or something? any ideas, much appreciated!?

yeah thanks matey, cause sometimes it doesnt start up in the morning, takes a bit of revs and few times starting it up, so must be the carbs mate Thumbs Up

I think you need to check the vacuum pipe and the little diaphragm thingy in the tap.

Yep, I would say so, strip the tap, make it so it is NOT vacuum operated and seal off the end of the pipe that goes to the engine is the easiest way if you don't want to try and fault find Thumbs Up

aah thanks Smile my bro's a bike mechanic but because he works nights and always with his girlfriend i find it hard to ask for his help, as he can be dead stressed and snap at me for asking a small question about it, i just worry about it, only had the bike 1 month now, just few small problems, its not huge obviously bike still runs fine Smile just got small problem with electrics but i think its because of the horrible weather Sad thanks for your help mate
