Plans are since the mother bought me a lifan and i trashed it, ill buy her a pan european because she likes them.

Ill ride it for a bit just to say i have once its finished. I just want to be sure it can actually return to the road before i go and get it.

There's some free history thing that you can do that will spam you as 'payment', so do it with a throw-away address. Forget the details, but google should provide!

Before you buy it you need to pose yourself the question of why the breaker is willing to sell it off so cheap.
Just selling the front wheel and headlight would net in over £100 on Ebay and another £100 for the 'P' spec right hand switch gear so why are they selling it off so cheap?

Buy it to break it by all means just be aware that if you want to rebuild it it could well be a no go.

Depends how it's been kept.

People seem to think that ex-service vehicles are highly maintained which in my experience is often VERY VERY wrong.
I know of one Pan in Exeter that has about 80K on the clocks that has a fubared cylinder head yet I've seen others with 150K in good nick. Common fault on ex-service bikes is a massacred rear spline on the bevel box.
I would instantly be suspicious of the engine as if in good nick and they removed it it would fetch £350 minimum on Ebay. In fact I find it suspicious that they haven't just thrown it on Ebay as a whole bike.

its an old fasioned breakers that doesnt really operate on the internet sales wise. theres no shortage of custom for them through local word of mouth.
ive bought loads from them, am pretty friendly with them and he's sorted me out a few times. ie: by giving me an r6 frame, and sorting me out with a ninja when my ktm mot ran out. for a breakers, they're decent. i've got no reason not to trust them really as they've trusted me on loads of occasions.
if its got something like a snapped cam belt or something that needs expensive parts, or will cost me much more than 500 to put right in parts ill just put it on ebay as a whole.

There's still a few decent breakers left. Becoming increasingly rare though. Most of them are parasites who deserve to burn in the very fires of hell. At the very least Wink
