just need some help if anyone knows anything about the 2 bikes as im 16 in a couple of months and i am set on an sr50 around a couple of years old and have seen a few around that interest me. If they are the same please don't laugh!

Basically what is the difference?
-does the LC have a digital LCD dash like the ditech?
-is the performance of the LC different to the ditech (im not looking to modify it)
-how does the reliabliltiy compare?

any information would be apreciated Smile
cheers

Only difference is the ditech is fuel injected, making it more difficult to work on. Reliabilty wise ditech does'nt have a good rep, injectors clogging up seemed to be a common problem.

As for performance not going to be a difference, both are restricted to 30mph and will do around 45-50mph derestricted. Thumbs Up

I fixed a mates SR50 and MOT'ed if for them.

This was a carb'd one so a normal LC model.

It had been stood for a while and wouldnt start. A quick carb clean sorted that!

It was pretty fast too! Obviously as a 50 it didn't feel fast, but it suprised me as on the B roads it didnt feel slow either!

The ditech is more reliable and economical, being able to achieve lambda more often than a carb'd version, and offers over half a brake more performance, which on a ped, makes a lot of difference. Smile as to the comment with clogged injectors, running regular shots of fuel system cleaner does the world of good Smile

I bought a 2006 SR50 brand new when I was 16 as a stepping stone into the biking world (black/red colour scheme Wink )

I went for the liquid cooled carb model and had absolutely no problems whatsoever. Just keep some 2 stroke oil handy and top it up when necessary.

Both will do 30mph if restricted. Both have LCD displays however the Di-Tech version has a one or two more functions on the LCD but nothing you should be worried about and would notice if you opt for the carb version since your on a 50cc moped.

Just ride safe and look after your soon to be pride and joy Wink
