I presume you're talking about the CB600f not the CBF600 which is a totally different bike?

The 98-02 Hornet's rear shock is supposed to have a max weight load on the shock of around 15-16 stone but it doesn't seem to struggle at a bit greater weight (plus a weeks' worth of luggage at one point).

Taking the easy way out, reviews for the models are below. Although the early models of both shared the same CBR600 engine just tuned differently (I think), parts generally aren't interchangeable and they ride differently. Hubby has a CBF600 and much prefers it to my Hornet but secretly thinks mine is better Mr. Green His is too tall and heavy for me though I'd prefer the larger petrol tank his has.

I should have pointed out that both bikes we have are the faired ones (so the weight I refer to is more on the faired than the naked). I'm a girl and so the weight is much more of an issue for me but I couldn't see it as being that much of an issue for a bloke in fairness! I've dropped the Hornet twice but as it was my first big bike I bought old deliberately for this reason so shed no tears Wink

At 5'4" I could get the balls of my feet down on the CBF (with its seat at the lowest of the 3 height settings) but wasn't comfortable manoeuvring it with it when combined with it's slightly greater weight. Hornet I'm fine with though for comfort I've scooped the seat out a bit more.

There's no way I'll be getting rid of the Hornet anytime soon as it is so comfortable and fun to ride. However, your experience of it could be totally different to mine, so you need to get trying them out yourself.
