Hello there everyone. I have been searching Google and countless bike forums for some answers since 11pm but can't seem to get any decent answers so I seek advise here.

Being a beginner at the biking scene I wanted to ask some question that I could not find answers to about exhaust pipes. I own a supersport 600cc bike with some modifications and I don't want to ruin the engine of my first bike so I would really appreciate some help.

First off; when using maps from DynoJet's official website on aftermarket slip on cans, are such maps designed for use with the baffle inserted or removed?

Secondly will a -1 front sprocket size make a difference in terms of the engine running leaner/richer?

I would really appreciate answers or guidance because I have had no luck on Google Sad

No, changing a sprocket size will just effect your gearing not if your engine runs lean or rich.

here, try this

Put your bike in, and you can fiddle with sprocket sizes all you like and see how your top speed is affected etc Thumbs Up

In all honestly whether the baffle is inserted or not won't make a big difference to the fuelling. A very slight one yes, but certainly not enough to cause engine damage.

Judging by home much they can affect power in some cases (they're generally better these days), I expect they can affect fuelling a fair bit.
However, they should make it richer rather than leaner, so shouldn't be likely to blow up!

I've seen power commander maps listed with and with out baffle often. Don't know about the ones you are looking at.

@ Big Ham: Thanks for that much appreciated. I don't know if it helps but the bike is a CBR600RR with an Akrapovic slip on. The pipe is made with a very easily removed baffle so I assumed it was designed to be used with no baffle but was inserted for road-use. Am I correct?

@ G: The bike has inlet blades+ throttle stop to restrict it to 33BHP so the PC3 was removed, I will have it back in when the bike is unrestricted, will it still be ok to run without a baffle? By the way the maps I was looking at are on DynoJet's own website, they arent listed with/without baffles :S

If you want to run without baffle I expect you'll be fine - it's whether running with it in will cause any problems.

Usually the pipe manufacturers build a race can, then they alter it slightly to take a baffle yes.
