I've only been road legal on the AR125 from today, and the fastest I've had it was about 78. The thing about Northern Ireland is that you must ride at 45 maximum if you display L plates so I can't really get away with much more than 50 unlike you lot. Sad

Are learner bikes actually restricted in Northern Ireland then? I dont really think much of the 45mph rule, sounds a bit dangerous to me.

Anyway, according to the Speedometer on the KH (which was on its way out incidently) I have had 82mph going down a small hill, mind you it was well into the redline by then, it will rev into the redline on the flat with standard sprokets which means my top speed is about 70 mph if I dont want to blow it up I worked out (from the rev counter / gearing) Shocked .

I have heard that they have now started to enforce the L plate / R plate 45mph restriction.

They never bothered when I lived there (15+ years ago). A guy at school went through a police road block in Bangor, almost running over a copper standing in the road, and then got chased round the ring road. He landed up with a 3 month extension to his R plates (and he was hardly keeping to 45mph when they were chasing him).

All the best

Keith

Have crept up to about 110 on the motorways occasionally, but don't really like going that fast as:

a) I'm not that keen on having to tuck my chin onto the petrol tank for any distance.

b) I'm always concious that if you get caught at that speed it's an automatic ban.

No, that was downhill with a damn good tailwind Laughing
My defence for today was I didn't have the 'super unleaded' in...which is a good thing really since that is more expensive and a lot of my fuel ran away today. Razz

Probably 70 realisticly, or maybe less.

They will do the standard restricted speed - 74 or whatever, though you must not go over 45. I go just below 55 because its fast enough yet not 60. Well I will explain that to the judge.

I guess so, it's a zx12r I think.

Quote from his signature - 187.3bhp = 198.12mph.
