Anybody knows how to remove the front rim and forks off a 03 GSXR. Mine are bent in and I need to replace them. It looks like I would need a special tool for the front rim in order to remove it. Also, I'm not sure how to get the front end lifted up in order to slide the forks down and out.

Hi

Holding the front up is not that easy on some bike. If the yokes are OK and do not need removing then a front paddock stand will do the job, probably.

Not sure on the GSXR, but it is quite common on modern bikes to need a very large allen key to remove the front wheel spindle. You should be able to get one of these (if that is what you need) from M&P, Busters or Demon Tweeks.

Once the front wheel is out unbolt the front calipers (although you might have to remove these before taking the wheel out), remove the front mudguard and slacken the pinch bolts on the top and bottom yokes. The forks should then slide out. If they do not slide easily then you can tap the downwards with a rubber mallet (but be careful not to hit them too hard as you will damage the adjusters on the top).

All the best

Keith

remove the belly pan and see if you can find something solid to get a jack under. jack it up and pu some blocks underneath it.

It may be worth dropping it off at a garage as they have the proper tools to hold it up and remove the forks
