Squatters in your home

Imagine returning to your home and finding that it has been occupied by squatters. The law will not offer you much help and you will likely find yourself locked up if you try to remove them forcefully. It must be a living nightmare for the homeowners concerned.
Realistically, what would you do?

depends on how many, how big, how drugged up, and how crazy they were.

Being honest, i could make a couple of phone calls and have them out within minutes without actually using any force. (bar the odd few stubborn exceptions)

I thought squatters rights only applied to buildings that had been vacant for a certain length of time, or were derelict.

I've heard stories of builders that are working on properties with their own unrestricted access all the time they are working on it to actually rent the property out to people as it's easy for them to pretend they're the landlord, they could also just get an extra key cut if they know the property will be empty for a while. The Romanians may actually have paid some rent and thought it was theirs and it could be the builders who are the crooks, but that's all speculation, they could just be squatters.

Realistically, what would I do?

Get a couple of mates and whatever else was needed and make them leave. There's a river for dumping bodies about 5 mins from my house if things got out of hand.

Realistically, who would stand for it? Apart from an illustrator.

Indeed, my initial reaction would be call a couple of pals, job done in 20 mins, I doubt they'd bother with the police as it's hard to talk with most of your teeth missing and not a dentist in sight.

However, these are fucking gypos you're dealing with here, it's not like they have a job to go to the next day, so comebacks and additional attempts to get into your home are going to be a daily worry, which hardly makes for a comfortable lifestyle. So I think you'd have to be a bit more cunning. I'd think poisoning them would be the best bet, even if it just gets them all going to hospital. If they croak it then its by the by, no one will miss them, or give a shit for that matter.

There was a report on the telly about people posing as estate agents letting out empty flats and houses, apparently it happens a lot through gumtree. You can always tell a stock photo in an ad and usually the rent is way too low for the property in question.

The bogus landlord/estate agent takes a huge cash deposit and fee (I remember forking out the best part of 1.5k on the last place*) and does a runner. Meanwhile the real owner comes back from the South of France and has a fit when they find some poor shmuck in their house.

That said, in this case (if it has been a bogus estate agent etc) the alleged squatters are clearly living outwith the terms of the lease as you just can't have that many folk in a three bed house, no landlord would allow it. (It goes on all the time right enough, usually with Asians, in my experience.) Two turn up to have a look, then 14 family members plus an Ox move in.



* That was bonafide, he/they didn't do a runner. They did a runner with a good portion of my deposit at the end of the lease though, the fuckers.

I would hound them 24/7 - every single window (of my own home) would be broken, and both doors kicked down (locks broken etc).


Eventually the cunts wont have any money to replace the broken items with and move away or go for help.

Much cheaper replacing glass than legal battles.


And Im sorry but if you're stupid enough to take your children into a home where you dont have a proper, binding contract you deserve to starve in the streets - waste of fucking oxygen.
