Can anybody tell me what the fast kawasaki 250 stroker from the late 80`s was called.

Anybody got a photo of one that they could put on this site?

Any info appreciated

More like 145+ when tuned to the edge of destruction by Stan the man. Even more speed and less reliability with a 300 bore kit.

Kwak built some amazingly impractical but fun strokers over the years. Shame emissions laws have put the kibosh on such endeavours now.

There is one on eGay now for £1.5k. Seems cheap to me for what seems like a legendary bike. I would love to own one.

They're extremely fragile, even when not tuned to buggery and running race pipes. But considering what Powervalve 350s go for now, 1500 quid is cheap for a bike which is undeniably great fun to ride.

Don't do it. Blue and yellow ones are rare enough as it is (and they look amazing anyway Wink).

Kawasaki colour scheme on Yamaha bike? I'm interested how it looks. But the problem is when you sell the bike...

Funnily enough, I found a video on YouTube yesterday of a TZR250 2MA/1KT with a Kawasaki sticker on the tank Confused

If you do this and your original bodywork is good then pick up some tatty stuff to get resprayed rather than wrecking good original bodywork.

All the best

All the body parts are a little tatty and patched up with carbon fiber\ araldite\super glue. That includes the spare body work that I`ll be painting..

As for selling the bike, no thanks It`s only done 43000 and is far too reliable (at the moment).

And what is the colour other than a fashion accessory

So a 1988 green TZR250 looks like this................

https://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac178/tzrsteve/album%201/035.jpg
I just found the old paint job too tatty and scratched,
the blue and yellow was far to busy with stickers all over the place,
and made a 1980`s bike look like it had been painted in the early 70`s

that is actually pretty tidy. Should put a yamaha sticker on the belly pan to finish it off, I reckon.
