I would suggest visiting a physiotherapist, your G.P should be able to recommend one.
There are simple exercises up can do by rotating the ankle, also whilst sat on the floor legs out in front of you use a rolled up towel or belt placed around the ball of your foot to pull your foot towards you and gently stretch the tendons hold for 5 seconds.
Another good one is to balance on the balls of your feet on the bottom step of the stairs and lower your heels then raise up on tip-toe, hold for 5 seconds in either direction.
I also found standing on a cushion bare foot on the "bad" leg for 30 seconds helped.
Like most gym exercises these are meant to be repeated 5 or 10 times and over time the length of the exercise increased.
I can scan a sheet of exercises I was given after I broke my foot, PM me if you like.
And to help loosen the joint up I would think taking glucosamine daily would help, it's certainly helped me since I was recommended it by some kind chap here on BCF. ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

Simply using the clutch often will act as physio and your ankle will eventually start to ease up.
I never really stuck to the physio I was told to do by the hospital so working the clutch was a shock to my leg. Painkillers ftw. ____________________ Go back to bed - You have no rights - "Streetfighters ~ Mainstream motorcycling's crackwhore sister." |
