If it's a pipe that comes from the tank and is below the line of petrol then I'd guess it will leak. Where it goes... have you got a manual?

Hi

Probably either the fuel tank breather (which will be above the fuel level), or it will be a drain pipe from around the fuel filler (drains away any water from around the cap so it doesn't accumulate and then drop into the tank when you open it).

In neither case should petrol come out of that pipe.

All the best

Keith

Are there any pics in the manual that contain said pipe and give an indication where the pipe leads off to?

I hope its a 250 cos` there the only tzr`s that I have any experience of.

Inside the tank the breather pipe is steel and sits near the filler cap it is bent and welded to a point low down near the back of the tank, this is where you connect the plastic breather pipe to.

The plastic pipe on mine goes down the left hand side of the bike behind the plastic side panel. The total length of the pipe is about 8 inches. When I fill my tank to the VERY TOP it overflows and this petrol drips down near the left hand, outside of the engine.

I`m only guessing but I would imagine that yours would be vaguely similar.

Any help Question
