No way is an NSR250 worth 5K Shocked Particularly in view of the rate it would eat components.

I hate to say it, but I kinda agree with cows. Sure, you're unlikely to lose money, but despite the nice tarty looks, I'll take an ex-ypm TZR250 and £4500 to spend on other stuff, ta Smile.

It's like saying Why would you spend £5k on a R7, when you could buy a gsxr750 and spend aload on tarty parts.

These are rare bikes, and a part of history. The price of that bike is only going to go up IMO. If I was a foot shorter and half my weight I would consider buying a NSR250sp Amazing fun on the weekend and an investment.

Exactly - I'd rather have the GSXR750 that does the same job which I'd be less worried about riding. Could always get a bottle of £4490 wine or something, which'd appreciate in value decently and a £10 poster of a pretty bike Smile.

I don't think I'd want to own a bike that doesn't offer any more than a lot cheaper rivals, but could be worth 10x as much and considered an 'investment', well not unless I had a hell of a lot more money that I do now anyway Smile.

Bikes are for riding, not the mantle piece Razz.

It ofters alot more than it's cheaper rivals, it was the best out of the crate 2t 250 ever made it was a race bike for the road.
Well it will go up in value, so it can quite easily be an 'investment'.
I've always like a bike that is abit special or rare, I reckon I see more GSXR's in one day than I see Speed Fours in a year.

Anyway this is somewhat irrelivant due to the fact that I have noticed it is the SE not the SP which was the limited edition superduper one. My point was about the SP. Laughing

That's why I mentioned YPM (Yamaha Past Masters racing club), so you get an ACTUAL race bike Smile.

Before I got the zx6 I liked the idea of being 'indivdual' - then I realised having a big chunk of cash in my back pocket.
My riding is often 'individual' enough to get me noticed (may not be a good thing!) as are my bikes generally, though they may not appeal to a certain sector of bike-geeks.
Frankly, if I want to be 'individual', I'll blow a grand getting someone that 'knows' fashion to choose me what ever's current but a bit different for me to wear daily, which will no doubt be money much better spent.
