where for kevlar jeans?

I'd like to buy something cheaper than 60 quid if possible, 70 quid max.

Is there a big quality difference between 60-70 quid trousers and 100+ quid ones?

In example..
- 70 quid ones
- 100 quid ones

Any suggestions, experiences? Any good online shops?

I just bought a classic HG leather jacket for summer and need some proper jeans (I don't really want leather trousers).

I have got a pair of Draggin' jean and although I have had them for a 3 years or so, they where never a very good cut. I have managed to rip the crotch a couple of times and there are a couple of loose threads on them.

Thinking about it, they have lasted a lot longer than my every day jeans do. And I have worn quite a bit. My worst grip is that they where a crap cut.

Very happy with both sets, warm, good protection and fit very well plus also very hard to tell apart from standard jeans so can be worn for work going out etc.

Ebay has some good bargans on these as long as you are sure about your size.

I came off at around 20-30mph with mine on. My over trouser ripped but the jeans where fine. Lost a bit of the blue in the knee. I still wear them and would be quite happily fall wearing them again. Although there isn't much impact protection.

I haven't tried on another pars, but my Dad's Hood kevlar jeans look better than my Draggin. I'd really recommend trying a pair on. I'd like mine much more if they fit better and where just generally a bit more stylish. When I wore them to college I'd change into another pair of jeans (sort of defeats the object of them).

I think I paid around £80, but that was a 3-3.5 years ago now (I feel old of all a sudden).

No problems in the washing machine with them, the richa jeans came without armour but I got a set off ebay for £8 the others had armour fitted mate. when you do a search just add armour to your preference or if you already have armour in textile trousers just fit it in the jeans providing they have the pockets.

I got a pair of £50 ones off ebay and they ripped while I was in a shoe shop trying on shoes (embaressing crotch rip.) Not a great sign for sliding down the road.
I personally recommend Hood jeans. Seem to be better made than Draggin, have worked for me in a crash, aren't too badly priced and will do custom sizing too.

Don't buy cheaper ones they are shite, I have 4 pairs of Kelvar jeans and the Draggins are the best buy far.

I have a Pair of RS (j&s?) branded ones I paid £40 for, the fit is very poor and the kevlar doesn't feel as good as the Draggin stuff. I also have a pair of Berik jeans I think there were about £70/80 these are cool but there have a pop button, which pop open often their are fine with a belt, they have soft armour sewn into them too which works well at not being too noticable. I have 2 pairs of draggins one cost £120 the other £80, both bought at bike shows the both came with free t shirts and know armour, they are the best looking, fitting and feel the best quality.

Personally I would only bother with draggins from now.

I've been unimpressed by the quality of my draggin combats - a few rips despite not having crashed in them. They've been consigned to very expensive 'garage wear' .
My Draggin black jeans have been ok, but I still reckon the Hood ones generally seem a bit better.

+1 on the hoods, whilst I've not made much of a habit of crashing, my carpark spill on the GS was in a pair of hoods, you have to look pretty close to spot any sign of damage on them at all, the only issue I've had was with a carbon fibre effect tankpad that came with my Futura, although admittedly that thing was like sandpaper and damaged my day to day riding jacket too.

One other thing to note with hood jeans is that they appear to finish them to order and as a result you can specify the length yourself. Handy for leggy gits like myself

I've got a pair of Hood jeans and whilst I have never crashed in them the do seem better quality than the draggin' jeans, I think they have more kevlar too. That said, I haven't worn mine for about 3 years now as I just can't stand the fit, the arse and seat on them is huge and that's saying something as I have a rather large behind. I'm thinking of selling them to get another pair but in a different cut.

I bought a pair of the Richa kevlar jeans for £80 and the stiched seam around the crotch split after a couple of months, which didn't give me much confidence if i was to slide down the road in them. Took em back and got a credit but paid an extra £20 and got Draggin. You can see and feel the superior quality in Draggin Jeans.
How they hold up in an off, hopefullly i will never know.

I have two pairs of Hood jeans, one of which I've owned for three years, and would buy them again. Very comfy, made to order, wash like normal jeans, cheaper than the armoured jeans you see in the motorcycle stores like Dragging etc.

That said I don't ride sports bikes anymore (I ride a cruiser and a putt-putt) so can't vouch for how effective they are at saving skin in an accident!

Horses for courses as per usual.

+1 for draggins (cargo). Have 2 pair and the first pair were purchase near 5 years ago.
Not bad for a pair of pants worn almost every day and taken on and off going to and from work etc.
They have started to fall apart now at the seems etc but the kevlar is still good.
Never really fancied jeans as i find it restricting enough on the bike around the boys, so I like a loose fit in that area and can't imagine wearing jeans on a long ride.

Also machine washing is fine but when drying them on the line make sure they are right side out.
Seems the sun can have an effect on the kevlar.

I'm in the market for some jeans and I'm thinking of buying Hood jeans. Having not actually owned any yet I can't comment on quality but I have only really heard positive things about them.

I've a pair of the Hood H2 trousers, which are poly-cotton rather than denim.

They're good quality, but I've thankfully not crashed in them.

I've not had a problem with my backside hanging out.
