I bought a new pair of bike boots in the past few weeks and today is the 3rd time I'm wearing them. They're plain black with a buckle on the side as I like this kind of look, it's also the first time I've got some boots without the extra additional patch to protect from changing gear.

The problem is they are so stiff!! I can hardly feel the brake or gear pedals, changing gear at speed is the worst thing as I can only put my foot right down then kick up as high as I can in the hope I manage to catch the gear in the right place! Please tell me the leather starts flexing more quite rapidly with use or I'm not gonna be riding very well for a fair while! Shocked

Are you wearing them off-bike to break them in? Walking will sort them out quicker than riding in them.

Shitkicker boots are a bastard to break in.... i had a pair and kicked my dog on a daily basis for three weeks.
They're quite comfy now.

Sounds good, can I borrow your dog!? Laughing

Must admit I haven't worn them off the bike, they're almost too bulky and awkward to do that with! I see why it's a good idea though... Thumbs Up

It's exactly the same as with your leathers - they need some good use to break them in. Stick them on then go shopping with the other half - by the time you get back they'll be perfect! (Worked for my Sidi's and with the missus' shopping habits, anyway...)

Side note - I find gloves also need breaking in, so wear them whilst I drive until comfortable.

I stuffed my boots with a load of socks stuffed into a waterproof sock to help get them to fit better whilst not wearing them.

Worked wonders.
