PostPosted: 12:00 - 18 Jan 2010    Post subject: A-holes at the petrol station Reply with quote

Checked the tyre pressures before I went out, they were a bit low so stopped at the petrol station to squirt some air in.
Queued up behind an asian woman who had to get someone to help her (this annoyed me no end as it took forever) then as she pulls off some complete knobs drive into the petrol station the wrong way and jump in front of me whilst I'm getting the wheels into position.
I calmly inform the driver that I was there before him, I've only got two tyres and would he mind waiting a moment? To this he starts mouthing off, his mates get out of the car and they're all having a go at me. I am seriously *****ed off by this, and have to restrain myself from getting drawn in. Had there only been the one fella, well then maybe things would have been different, but I don't really fancy getting into a fight with 3 blokes on the forecourt of a petrol station.
Can people not just bloody wait their turn? I was so enraged I had to go home rather than out for a ride. :annoyed:

Right thing to do regards walking away - it's the smart decision, even if you do win the fisticuffs idiots like this aren't going to learn anything from it.

I had some bloke do similar at the petrol pumps a couple of years ago, so I did what any mature and rational chap would do....rammed his car.

Felt a bit of a cunt about it so offered him a tenner to replace his cracked number plate when he came out from paying and apologised profusely. Embarassed

If you'd helped the Asian woman yourself you might have got there quicker.... Dunno, just a thought...

The right thing to do was brush it off I guess. At least you apologised after you had broken his numberplate!

I must admit, I was tempted to park up so he couldn't get out - however I imagine he would have had no issue with just knocking the bike over and driving off.

Edit: @ UnknownStuntman: As I arrived she was already receiving assistance from a gentleman, I felt it best not to get involved as I'd probably only be a hinderance. The annoyance stemmed from the fact that the kind person offering her assistance insisted on checking each tyre with his own pressure gauge multiple times through the filling of each tyre, which I deemed rather unnecessary? Confused

People suck, thats why i hate the world.. Razz

You did the right thing by staying calm though.I think its always best to back down from aggro and walk away if you can, unless the 3rd party oversteps the mark by a mile and deserves a slap.

Need to pick your fights carefully these days.An innocent looking 16 year old who`s about 10 stone piss-wet-through can still do a lot of damage to a 20 stone gripper just by taking the kitchen knife out of his back pocket Rolling Eyes

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? As a tall but skinny guy I'm quite in favour of weapons to level the field a bit. Close up that stacked guy who works out all the time would tear me apart but if I use a rifle he's gonna fall no matter who big he is.....

I think it's more a statement of how today you can expect any teenager to be carrying a blade with them, and be willing to use it for the smallest ( and most ridiculous) of reasons, it's a sad state of affairs, and gone are the days when two blokes would put up their fists and go toe to toe without their mates jumping in, and the loser would take his ass whooping like a man, instead of phoning the lads and starting off some sort of ongoing war just because said bloke can't handle that he got battered.

I agree with that!

Sadly before my time, but I am lead to believe that once upon a time a fight was simply a manly way to settle an affair whilst relieving a bit of testosterone build up. Both combatants usually walked away from the fight and when the other bloke was down you called it a day and enjoyed the victory, as opposed to get the boot in along with your 20+ mates.

In a old school bout of fisticuffs you aren't actually looking to cause damage are you? Just a physical ritual to show who is on the right side of the argument.... Laughing

As soon as a weapon comes into it, there is the good chance of proper damage being done as I see it. Then of course you start packing something better than the opponent as thats what is needed to defend against the other blokes knife/club/hammer etc

Had this country introduced one way tyre spikes like they have in the USA, he would not have entered the forecourt via the exit.

Just another thing on the long list that one way spikes would solve.

Because the gauge on the tyre pressure machine is usually woefully innacurate. I've been known to read 26 on my pressure guage before when the machine said 30 - that 4psi can make quite a large difference.

Does that mean there's something wrong with the way I do it - overfill slightly then bring it down to correct pressure afterwards using a gauge? This guy was filling, checking, filling some more, checking, filling some more, checking.... until it was right - surely a waste of time?

That's a bit silly though. I'd be fucking livid if someone thought it right to puncture my (very expensive) tyres just to teach me a lesson for driving the wrong way into the petrol station. Not like it's a crime or anything.

It's more of an American ''capital punishment'' method of stopping people entering places of work, running toll booths and much more. Having them in every petrol station would catch many people out and result in chaos....

Pump your tyres up at home and check them with an accurate pressure gauge Wink

My view (not aimed directly at you either) is that if you cant physically match someone in size or beat them with a fighting skill, you should keep your mouth shut more often and assume your position in the pack.If you know, or suspect, someone is going to fuck you up ....walk away Wink

Weapons? yes sometimes i agree with using them if its serious stuff like defending your home and family, but carrying knives and serious weapons out in the world is for cuntface little wankers.

I`m a bit old skool when it comes to fighting though. On the rare occassion i get into one i only do whats necassary to win then leave it at that.I dont go jumping on peoples heads to split their skulls wide open and i dont try to kill them with a 10 inch kitchen knife either like some people do in the crazy ways of the world today.

People who carry weapons in the street are basically cowards in my opinion.

Thats precisely what i meant mate and i agree with you. Wink Thumbs Up

Hence why i think its best to pick your fights carefully these days. Is it really worth starting a fight with some druggie scumbag who doesnt even have the manners to wait his turn in a que?
Its people like that who are most likely to have a knife tucked away somewhere and arent afraid to use it either..

If he wasn't with his mates I really doubt he would of acted the same.

He knew you wouldn't fight back, although if you were in your leathers (gloves on too) they wouldn't have such a benefit. You could of probably taken em. But people act differently and mostly more stupid in groups. It's in human genes. You wouldn't riot against the police if you were on your own in a street would you?

Safety in numbers and all that...

Head butting someone in a helmet is most pleasing.
Especially if they try and head butt you while you're in yours...

But yeah, as people have said, a lot of people in this country are conts, sadly, there's not a lot we can do about it.

But what if I get attacked for no reason other than refusing to give some scumbag a cigarette?

Do they not then deserve to be mercilessy pummelled? I personally think that yes on most occasions they should be pummeled by those older and more wisened than themselves.

Oh and to the original post, thats what you get for being lazy and not pumping it up by foot Razz

Yeah, I;ve heard stories from the days of yore whereby they'd smack crap out of each other for 10 minutes, the guy losing would be like "ok, I've had enough, you win", then 10 minutes later they are buying each other pints., a gentlemans fight if you will.
