So I left work last night and in my works car park I came across this... (see attached). My bike is on the right in the pic, does it just take the piss or what!? Evil or Very Mad
I've already made a complaint about it... Rolling Eyes

In total we had 2 bikes and 3 cars parked in the motorbike parking area leaving no space for any other bikes to fit in. I tell you, next time this happens I'll be parking in a car space instead!

Any of you have similar issues?

(And just so you know, 'just' out of the pic on the other side of my bike is a grit bin so I haven't got any more room on that side either!)

There's not really the same number every day but minimum is 2, maximum has been about 6 or 7 and average is probably 3 or 4. yesterday when I took that picture there were only 2 there, but then I wouldn't know if other riders had parked elswhere because they couldn't fit in the proper space...

I remember once going to the cinema in York on the bike (Clifton Moor if you know it).
Rode around for ages looking for motorcycle parking. Eventually gave up and parked as best I could.

When I came out I spotted the motorcycle bay. Directly in front of the entrance. Only before it had cars parked in it all the way along (only sign painted on the road, none on posts).

Went back inside to mention it. Response was a shrug in the I couldn't give a toss I only work here way.

In my town there are so many traffic wardens around a car wouldn't dare try and park in one of the free motorcycle parking bays. That and the bikers around here would not be kind to the paintwork of those cars. Maybe a couple of scratches trying to get your bike in and out would teach them?

I believe the trick is to have a really tatty bike, then leave it parked right up next to their driver’s door with some kind of lock on Smile. Of course, you have to not care if you come back to find it on it’s side or with some extra marks on it.

Possibly just a little note and a big boot print on their windscreen, suggesting the next time it won’t just be a print Smile.

If its a works car park then report it to management or security.
Let them deal with it, before you start with the parking so close they can't get in. Or right behind them so that they have to ask for the bike to be removed before reversing out......

Thankfully with our bike parking only a idiot would dare to drive over the footpath and park under the bike sheds.... Given the main security guy rides a goldwing and has been on it to work everyday this year even in the worst snow...

Thats what it looks like in the motorcycle bay in the shopping center here, and its a fair bit away from the shopping centre and people still park on it.

I had a blazing row once with some woman and man parked on it, They where the only ones in their cars at the time to say someting to. I had to park on the curb beside them. Woman told me to F off and all! then when I came back her husband was there and they gave me a full apoligy apparently someone had taken all the disablied spots so they thought it was only fair they took the bike ones. Rolling Eyes

Some silly kids in cars used to park in the bike bay when all the spaces were taken.....

I would park behind them to piss them off but to be quite honest if they get pissy the bike's going to come off worse.

Can quite easily kick/drag it out the way if they so choose.....

Of course that would warrant some retribution Twisted Evil

Complaint? I'd have got a few people together and put that box on its roof. In fact we did exactly that a few times when I worked in London. Once to a pompous arsehole who was still in his cage and refused to move Laughing

Luckily, the Tesco that i go to has a motorcycle parking bay off the road, so you have to go up onto the path to park your bike, which i prefer, it stops twats in cars parking there, although it's bound to happen at some point Rolling Eyes

It's always the chavs in there pimped out 106's and Saxo's, can never be a maturer, more sophisticated man with an A3 or something.

Guess chavs always look for trouble, thinking they're the dogs bollocks.

When going to any supermarket I always park right up the store in front of the glass front.

Its always a shock when I go in someone car and actually have to walk to the store....

I've complained in Tescos that they were making no attempt to police their own bike bays. And in Sainsburys that one of their vans was parked not in the bay but on double yellows aimed straight at it, making it impossible to get in.

People don't give a fuck. There's a woman in work who parked in the disabled bays because she's overweight.

They should be fined for doing that! Its her problem she's overweight. Infact she should park at the bottom of the car park, that way she might lose some weight, the fat fuck.

Not quite the same but when I was at LeMans 2 cars decided to park in our campsite. One was a massive new version of an old yank muscle car I think it was a Mustang the other an old British softtop. We where discussing what to do to the cars that night. My suggestiong was to let about 10-15 psi out of the tires then cover the valves in smelly French cheese and super glue the caps on. We all agreed the British softtop which was 30-40 years old instantly got amnesty due to being pretty cool, we also agreed the Mustang deserved punishment for being big, gay and clearly driven buy an Arsehole.

In the end we descided to piss on it. So all night when ever any one needed as piss we went on the Mustang. Bearing in mind we where drinking all night and there where 7 of us. Laughing That was alot of piss. The next afternoon the owners came back we challenged them and they couldn't care less. It was brilliant them acting smug untill he opened the door of his car and sat down. This year at LeMans it was extremely hot, and the campsite extremely dusty. One of the lads had stood on the bummper and written 'COCK' in his piss on the windscreen what was left on the windscreen was the outline of cock in dust and all the dribbles down it he got out his car and had a look round and was very angry he looked at us and we were smiling and trying to hold in giggles all looking at him. He then then notices the door he has just opened and handle covered (like the rest of his car) in the dusty pissmarks then looks at his hand. He gets in the car slams the door and drives off we all erupted with laughter and we carried on laughing and joking about it for nearly an hour.

Fun times Laughing

Not so funny when some twat parked their Triumph tourer between the bike racks at my local supermarket. Then, I don't care about the lack of motorcycle bays, because I lacked a clear bicycle space. Obviously annoyed the rider about the proximity (but no contact) of my handlebars to their precious plastic, because I returned to find my bicycle pushed over.

Meh. We're not so pure.

The take away in Grimsby used to park in there all the time. I took a few pictures then showed the CPSO's and they fined them for parking violations, but they were again the next time I went so I parked the bike right up close to his bumper. Then sat at the pub in view of my bike, the idiot came straight out and tried to move my bike. We had a bit of a scuffle and he dropped (read I kicked) it on his nice shiny BMW. He threatend to sue me, until I pointed out that he shouldn't have been parked there in the 1st place so had no rights.

The next was a jag who parked in it just as I was coming up to my bike and gave me a smug grin as I was putting my lid on and starting it up. I looked over to see he must have been an ich from the GT, as I swung my leg over I inadvertantly kicked his head light through. Oops Middle Finger Very Happy Middle Finger I then gave him the finger and rode off.

A few weeks later I recieved a phone call from the police about damaging the cars. And that I would be done for damage with intent or some bollocks. Because you couldn't see the Motorcylce sign on the camera's, took a trip to the station and showed them how closse they got to my bikes. I got £100 for the damages to my CB. Winnah.

Moral of the story, get pictures of the full car taking up the space including number plates and the sign, then you can do what you like because the damage was caused by the retards parking to close to your bike so the damage was inevitable, or if it's chavs just put it down to there sh1tty driving on the sea front at a night time.

Indeed, I do often park in the push bike ones at local supermarkets, erm, including a triumph tourer Embarassed. However, never done it when they're anywhere near full - the smaller one I usually just stick at the end, not 'in' but the big Tescos has something like 25 'gaps', which I've never seen more than 3 of used.

Generally just stick the bike by the doors as it's easier Smile.

Same as you G, the motorcycle parking bay at the retail park i go to, is for cyclists to, and i tend to park there 99% of the time, but because Tesco is inside the big shopping centre, i can't keep an eye on my bike whilst it's parked, so i leave it in the bay, but never inbetween the racks, i can imagine coming back finding my bike on the floor with a buckled wheel Thumbs Down

I once parked my bike up at the front of Tesco Metro, near the window, mainly so i could see it, but also because it was raining, and the shop's roof was petruding out, covering about 2 metres of ground, and 1 metre or so of that ground that i was on, was bone dry. As i dismounted my bike a fat slob of a security guard came over and pointed to the ground and asked me to move it there, i was like, you're having a fucking laugh aren't you mate?

He was asking me to move it, literally, just outside of the dry ground and in the pissing rain, probably about 3ft from where i already was, like he just wanted my bike to get wet, i just walked away and into the shop, nothing was done, and i didn't see him when i left.

But what a cock Middle Finger Middle Finger
