peircing after care

had me eyebrow peirced again (last one went mankey so i need some good advise) now what you people suggest as the best thing to look after it peicer told me warm water and salt but i've read on google and seen different things

I'm washing it twice a day, morning and night with a cotton wool bud but should i twist the ring around when i do it or just wash it and leave it be. (Plus im making sure me hands are washed before i touch it.)

and as far as sleeping with it should i put a plaster on it for a couple of weeks as not to bang it when sleeping.

What about cleaning using antiseptic solutions?

When I was thinking about getting my tongue pierced, they suggested using mouthwash quite regularly throughout the day for the first couple of weeks I think. Essentially an antiseptic solution would do the same thing.

IIRC there may be some build up of some white 'gunk' (or crusty white stuff) around the piercing.

Best wash this away with salt water solution.
Rinse out a cup/glass with boiling water.
Fill cup/glass with boiled water and put in some salt.
Allow to cool.

Use this solution to clear piercing.
Dip cotton bud in it.
Clean around piercing removing any crud.
Then move bar/ring to clean that.

An alternative to salt solution is Savlon Wound Wash - example if you click here.

Spray on piercing and clean with cotton bud as above.

If you have a more intimate piercing (you know what I mean) do not use the wound wash on it. This is because it dries it out too much. For that kind of piercing best use your own urine (rinse cup/glass with hot boiled water as for salt solution above).

when i had my ear done, and was stretching it, I was told by the nice girl who did it to be wary of shampoo, but my all means count your shower as washing it.

I did that and in the evenings i just used salty water and washed clear afterwards.

Mine never got infected or gunky.

Simple solution of sea salt. Regular bathing and try no to have anything aggravating it - helmet, fiddling with it etc

The standard salt has a additive that will strip the goodness from your piercing that the body naturally produces.
