On the 30th, MrsGixer has a training course to attend up near Stoke-on-Trent. I've rather foolishly agreed to drive her up there, and now have the day to kill (her course runs 9 - 5).
I've been racking my brains for stuff to do, but to be honest i can't really think of much. Here's what i've come up with so far:

1) Drive up in my car (MR2), spend the day hooning around the nice roads around the Peak district. Not a bad idea, but it's about 2 1/2 hours drive from us up to Stoke. Do i really want to spend all day driving plus a 5 hour round trip?

2) Drive up in her car (MPV), take the dog, have a day walking up in the Peaks. Again, sounds nice, but after a day romping in the wilds, i won't fancy sitting in the car for several hours home.

3) Spend the day at a local museum or attraction. Can't really find that much to do locally. Loads of museums up there dedicated to pottery, but frankly i'm not really interested enough in pottery to visit a museum dedicated to it.

4) Drive up in her car, take a sleeping bag and remove the rear seats. Find a place to park, smoke lots of weed, get in the sleeping bag, watch films, porn etc and have a well earned kip all day. This is looking the most appealing option at the moment.

Come on BCF, surely you can help me do something more creative and constructive than merely frittering the day away getting stoned and wanking off in the back of a MPV, somewhere in Staffordshire.

Spend the day getting stoned on the rides at Alton Towers.

[edit] You really could masturbate yourself into Oblivion there.

[edit 2] Except it doesn't open until the middle of February. Wankers.

Go swimming and scare the local youth - I'd recommend wearing a mankini: https://www.waterworld.co.uk/

Go and see some Monkeys - I'd recommend taking your wife's MPV:

Go on a brewery tour - again, I'm recommending your wife's car so she can drive home Wink :

Alternatively just go into Hanley, observe the local wildlife and feel vastly superior.

Dammit I missed the number 1 attraction - DK Motorcycles. How could anyone resist a visit to their infamous showroom. If you go, could you tell me it the part-shop parrot is still alive??

If it were me I'd set up a test ride at DK and abuse one of their overpriced machines around Whitchurch for a bit.

Then I'd just go to the casino, get pissed and make the mrs drive you home. There really ain't much of interest TBH.

Its been a while since I tried to do anything entertaining in stoke.

But, Trentham gardens can be good to waste a bit of time, lots of little obscure shops, monkey island and you could always have a wander round the lake and garden centre.

Festival park (just outside hanley) has a bowling alley, cinema and lots of scum hanging about, the better cinema is in newcastle but it's the only thing newcastle has to offer.

There really is fuck all to do there, whether a young adult or a proper one, hence I left. The only thing the place is good for is people watching, 8 hours of that and your self esteem will be through the ceiling.

As above though, you could always arrange a test ride or 2 through DK, if you speak to mcjamweasel (does he still come here?) then he can probably sort you out a test ride on a triumph of some sort at the local dealer.

Oh, go and have oatcakes, its all the place has to offer that's worth bothering with.
