Since my other thread my destinations have been sorted. I have plotted a rougth route. I say rough I won't be taking toll roads where is can be helped, but this map includes them.

Link to map

With the following restrictions can you plan a better route?

I have 16/17 days available to me

I'm leaving from Norwich to the Hook of Holland

    4 Nights in Budapest

    4 Nights in Split

My buddy wants to do 1 lap of the Nurburgring

On our last day we plan to visit the Assen GP and will leave from the Hook of Holland that night

Basically its two weeks and 3000miles which is perfectly doable (In fact i did it last year) https://fruitfulthoughts.co.uk/9.html?start=12

If you go through the tunnel from Slovenia to Austria be prepared for the yellow tinged air due to exhaust fumes and poor ventilation.

We did just under 3500 miles in 16 days and stopped 2 nights in Slovenia - Lake Bled and the Triglav mountains are beautiful places and the Slovenians are really friendly , then we went onto Lake Garda in Italy for 2 nights and at the end we stopped 2 nights in Mons, Belgium.

We are presently trying to decide what to do this year, another bike tour ( I would love to go down to Croatia) or a fly drive to America.

I went through that tunnel last year, cost about 4€, it was quite impressive. the Austrian Roads were in excellent condition. I didn't have a motorway sticker but used it anyway for the most part (Naughty)

I'm leaving after work on 11th June and returning either the 26th or 27th.

Should be fun. And anyone is welcome to join in.

I'll be travelling on a ZX9R with a mate on either a Thundercat or 98 R1 and another older guy (in his 40s) on a Thundercat.

I'll be taking a similar route back to Budapest, Hungary at the beginning of May. The only difference is that I'll be visiting Sopron (it's right at the border of Austria/Hungary) as it's a lovely town, with a great history and some pretty cool people.

If you need any help with anyhing in Hungary (finding a place to stay at, servicing, showing some good places in town Very Happy), just let me know, as I'll be there..I might even join you for a short ride from Budapest down to the Croatian border if you don't mind.

You go close to the Black Forest in Germany (just south of Karlsruhe).
Apparently the B500 is an amazing road through great scenery (lots of people say its the best road in Europe!)

Also, on your way down from Bonn, hug the Rhein river taking a detour out to the ring. Its a seriously beautiful river with steep valley sides and picturesque castles etc. Either that or cut down and ride along the Mosel river (goes between Trier and Koblenz) - Thats a beautiful place too.

so yeah, Black Forest (B500) and Rhein / Mosel rivers. Your current route already goes close.

most of the roads through the Black Forest are great roads, buut the B500 is a 'green' road on Michelin maps. I think that Steve & I did part of it last year after we passed Baden Baden

Cool. Thumbs Up

I'm not surprised you couldn't find banhof, it's a bit tricky to get there. Very Happy Not that you've missed anything..
