Bridgestone tyres

Does anyone use the Bridgestone BT020 tyres on there bikes, Also are they any good?

If not what would be the best for around £150 (As I can get a set for this with free postage, and its how much i have spare at the minute Laughing

)

they are discontinued, replaced with BT-021

i've used both in the past and both were good tyres, hard wearing and grippy enough for me.

my 021s survived a track day too.

if you want some cheap but good tyres consider Maxxis.

this ebay seller sells them extremely cheap.

the tour ones are the same type as the bt-020/021

I would get some Diablo Corsas, same price delivered on ebay.
Remember fitting costs, though.
Won't last as long, but should offer more fun while they do Smile

I've not been a fan of the 020s personally - would prefer a grippier front tyre, though not so bad as a rear.
You can easily ride around the lower grip, until a car pulls out infront of you anyway.

I've found the one maxxis I used to be very poor myself, so wouldn't consider them.

I would also say Corsas.

i used to use D208s on my CBR6, though meh they good enough. then some Corsas came my way at a good price. They were so differnt from the Dunlops. the Corsas cornered easier, had a larger amount of "feel" and grip, warmed up quicker even held the heat longer and to top it off, still managed to get quite a bit of mileage out of them too. Thumbs Up

So yeah my vte is on the Diablo Corsas Smile

Can get them fitted pretty cheap, For beer money.

Looking for a hard wearing tyre as i don't want to be changing them all the time.

There going on a 2000 ZX-6R.

Harder wearing tyre.. I had D208s as mentioned and fond them quite capable of the things i wanted it to do. there a fairly cheap tyre too Thumbs Up

I've got BT-021's on my older ZX6R F3 and they've lasted around 5k miles so far, plenty of life in the rear but the front will need changing soon as it's down to the wear indicators Sad

They're grippy enough but take a little time to warm up. They're quite good in the wet too.

The Dunlop D207e's are not that expensive and use the same compound as the Roadsmarts, they might be worth a shot?

I am riding with BT021s, so far I have been to Aviemore on them and 3000+ miles around Europe on them. I have done 11000 miles on the rear and 8000 miles on the front and I probably have another 3000 miles left in the rear and even more left on the front. I have never had a problem with grip - but then I ride like a girl on a MK1 Fazer (just looked....I am a girl Shocked

).

I've had 020s on two different bikes and in both cases they were fine in the dry but felt vague in the rain.

I didn't like the 020's when they were on my F3. They were wooden in the damp and cold. They were OK when they were run in dry and warm conditions. The rear tyre squared off badly after 5k miles. Ditched them for a set of dunlop roadsmarts and haven't looked back since. But that's just what I prefer. I like the stable dunlop profiles and the wear rate isn't really too bad.

I had BT020's on my ER-6 - seemed pretty good wet & dry.

I replaced the back one with a BT021 when it had an irrepairable puncture - both still had a bit of wear after 10k miles when I traded the bike.

I've got BT016's on the Gixxer - they seem better still.
