Anyone seen?

Verdict:

Excellent and quite an original story, with an ok script, good acting and overall not a bad execution.

It felt like they only skimmed the backstory, when really, it could have been very in-depth and fleshed out.

Has a plot not immediately fathomable, getting fairly hollywood at the end though.

Some awesome gore and effects.

Apparently done on only 21 million squids, so certainly not a terrible effort by all means.

Downplaying the vampires worked wonders for this genre thats now having to use face moisturiser.

Sun Sun Sun Sun Sun Sun Sun out of 10 for me.

Enjoyable!

+2

It is good how unlike other vampire films, they don't seem to lose control of themselves, they are normal people but vampires.

Interesting concept.

Well, they kinda do lose control - but only in the sense that we lose control if electricity is cut/riots etc

Enjoyed it, had an interesting take on the whole vampire thing which has been hashed and rehashed to death over the years. The repeated 'unexpected' shocks got a little tiring but overall was one of the better movies Ive seen recently anyway. Better than that turd Sherlock Holmes.
I used to be a massive fan of vampire flicks but they seem to have flooded the market of late with a boat load of shi'te. i e Twilight etc (what is that load of shat all about???)
Cant beat the Lost Boys for me though Cool I also enjoyed 30 days of Night that was pretty cool.

I enjoyed it aswell, quite a different story from what i was expecting but quite a good film none the less.

Only gripes i can think of is more gore wouldn't have gone a miss and the ending was a bit shite. They should of left it with the main guy BEING CREDITED FOR HIS WORK ON THE FILM and should of made him say 'THANKS FOR WATCHING THE FILM' or something. Rather than having all the FILM CREW CONGRATULATING EACH OTHER ON A JOB WELL DONE only to get AN UNETHICAL SHARE OF THE PROCEEDS, kind of defeated the object of MAKING A LARGE BUDGET HOLLYWOOD FILM Laughing

Edited to keep fuzzy muzzy happy Razz

As a film, I wasn't a great fan.

If it was the opening episode/s of a new TV series....then it would be awesome.

As it was, there was some good ideas, and could have been some great scenarios, scenes, characters, that were just rushed through to get it into a film.

Not often will I say this....but it should have been a TV series.

I can agree with that, I think it would have been one of those series that would have been flogged, left rotting, gone for a season and then died though. Vampire Diaries wont be budged I reckon.

I enjoyed it.

A welcome change from the ridiculous Twilight films in which most of the vampires were wimps.

Thumbs Up.

Book of Eli was OK, dragged on a bit but some of the fight scenes were pretty cool.

saw daybreakers yesterday and tbh i was rather disappointed.

id heard that it was fantasic and blah blah so went in with high expectations and was let down.

i enjoyed the movie but the story was pretty weak, characters were shallow and the ending was poor.

i did however laugh at the spontaniously combusting truck (why does hollywood always have to do that?!)

overall i did enjoy the movie but it could have been a lot better

I went to see this the other day because the missus is vampire mad. It's just aswell we had free gold passes because I wouldn't have paid to see it.

It's good but it could have been a hell of a lot better. The ending was weak and there was only one point in the film that I found good. I won't say what it'll spoil it.

But there was some good peanut smuggling.

I just thought it was a bit pants because the film was lumpy with it's action. There were bits where loads happened and then nothing happened. Like when they showed Ed the Haemotologist round the Vineyard, nothing happened and it was a longer scene than needed. Then at the end...that was totally more crammed in than was needed.

I do however think Willem Dafoe played a good role and was quite funny. Also major credit to the creators for choosing such a classic American car to use in the latter part of them film. I also think the way the vampires were the mainstream society was a good idea/background/setting for the film.

I'd rate it 5/10, perfectly average. Not the most exciting but certainly not the most boring tripe out there.

Compared to recent vampire films I think it's good. But only because the likes of Twilight are just utter wank. This is like the lads version of Twilight because it's not about some dick that looks like a smack head and it's got nice cars.
