Restricted 125 ?

Hi,
i'm 16 and i'm think off getting a bike. obviously i can only ride a 50cc bike at the moment and then 125cc at 17. i was think it is a lot of bother riding a 50cc for a year and then selling it and getting a 125cc. i mentioned it to my mate and he said that at 16 you can legally ride a restricted 125. so i was wondering if some one can confirm this or disconfirm this.

yeah when you're 17 or over, you can get a 125 on L plates but the legal limit is 14.6bhp i think. Obviously everyone obeys that power restriction Rolling Eyes

Just to let you know will,
a restriction kit is purely for the bhp.
The cc's of the bike is the physical side of things which can not be altered. Restrictor kits purely lower the bhp =]
