Have a old xs750 yamaha, 1981.

Its in a state and i thought ill give it a go at fixing it up. But decided not to after it sitting in my garage for 4 months.

I'ts a IL3, shaft drive. Sources tell me its a good trike engine.

Not run since 2001. I got it for free. A bloke from the paper said he will happily remove it for free. Witch im tempted by.

Is it worth sticking it on ebay for a week?

I got a old logbook in the previous owners name. I dont think he sawned it. I havent put the book into my name.

Can i sell it with no logbook?

Thanks for the advice.

Thumbs Up Confused

If you stick it on ebay your probably gonna get 100 quid for it, hardly anything goes on ebay bikewise for less than 100 quid even sheds.

Although it is hassle when the guy could come pick it up.

I'd always try gumtree and ebay first cause any money is money.

Yes, but then the new owner will have to give £25 to the DVLA, if you just give them the V5c, they won't.

I agree with Pyro though, whack it on eBay and get some money for it. Have you actually tried to get it started?

If you don't want the hassle with eBay either give it to that bloke or offer it on here for free.

If the logbook is that old and it's been off the road for years it won't have needed to be sorned so no worries there but you are comitting an offence by not registering it in your name.

Sure you can sell it - they are rare now and spares hard to find. If the engine has lowish miles you'll get a tidy few quid for it, more if you can actually make it run even briefly.
