Coming home tonight the car in front of me slammed on because the car infront of him slammed on because he nearly missed his turning. I slammed on but tw*tted the car in front, totally destroying me fairing etc. I however slid down the road face down to become parallel with the driver I hit. The lady driving towards me had to swerve to miss me as I was sliding on her side of the road. Shocked

The bike is a f*cking mess, hopefully it's all cosmetic. I'll inspect it better tomorrow Crying or Very sad I'll post some pics too.

It's amazing how many thoughts run through your head when your sliding down the road on your chest. (Frank Thomas jackets rule). I really though I was going to slide under a oncoming car and die this evening. Weird.

My girlfriend following me in her car saw it all, aparently it wasn't nice. All this in a 30 and I wasn't speeding. Didn't even think I was that close. Still the insurance will blame me Evil or Very Mad Middle Finger

So I'm only TPFT. So I'll have to sort it my self if it's not written off. And my insurance will repair the bumper and exhaust pipe on the corsa.

At least I'm OK, just a little shaken. Although it was at low speed I'm still quite lucky Karma

I'll post more tomorrow with photos, I need to get some sleep. Thumbs Up

Korn where is my award?

Crying or Very sad

Sorry to hear about that!

If your lucky like Goose was the insurance will end up going 50/50 and you'll get some sort of small pay out, as you said though its likely that you'll get the blame straight away! Sad

Unlucky mate, sounds nasty, but like it could have been a damn sight worse.

Hope the bill isn't too high either. Wink

Flip, I hope you and the bike are OK mate.

Atleast your no to damaged, surely it would be the fault of the driver who slammed on that start with?

Bad luck, nine times out of ten you can get away with it but you just had some bad luck.

Glad to hear you are OK. Smile

Tough luck in the first place but at least good luck for you that you didn't suffer (by the sound of it) any serious injuries.

Did the police attend and take statements?

Yeah but their not prosecuting! Said that neither me or the car I hit were being reckless. Its strange over taking a car without a vehicle!
The car that first slammed on causing the second car to slam on and me to crash buggered off!

Sorry to hear about that the most important thing is that you are alright
.i'll tell you a little story the day i took my CBT our instructor was leading us out (my first time on the road) was just turning right and my throttle stuck and i skidded across the road ,right into the path of a bus .Needless to say i thought SHIT and i did Embarassed luckily the driver saw me and stopped 6 inches from my head. Shocked so in the meantime my instructor had only just noticed i was missing ,the group pulled up about 300 metres up the road ,he came back to see if i was ok ,though a bit shaken and a slight wiffy Embarassed i agreed to carry on.
I can tell you it is not fun to ride with a skiddy arse Shocked and it wasen't fun i bet for the rest of the group when it was my turn to take lead (i diden't know there was cows in central london) if you get my drift Very Happy Very Happy take care.

Ooh, you poor thing.
I'm glad you weren't hurt and hope your bike's not to expensive to fix. Have you got anywhere near you that does plastic welding? Might be cheaper than a new fairing...
I agree with you on the Frank Thomas thing - I got knocked off my bike at about 30mph and my FT trousers saved my skin. I landed on my face too and ground away about 5mm of my chin guard - thank god I was wearing a full face lid!

Phil, Like you say, at least you are alright, that is all that matters at the end of the day.

I have always thought, if I do come off my bike I hope I am in a fit state to post something here about it!

Sorry mate, hope you get it all sorted..... Smile

Thanks for your messages guys, it does mean a lot Thumbs Up Karma Well the bike frame is ok and the forks look OK. Just got to replace the fairing (all of it), headlights, top yoke, cluch lever, end can, the frame work that the clocks etc attack to, mud guard etc. Crying or Very sad Mad Neutral

Spent the afternoon stipping the front end with my mate Phil, not nice Neutral

At least I'm alive and well, just a bit sore in places. Just upset about my baby.

The insurance have said I'll probably get the blame Middle Finger Evil or Very Mad but thats to be expected. Found out today I was thrown in the air before hitting the floor and sliding past the car I hit!!!

Time, monet and work should see the bike fixed but not for a while yet Rolling Eyes

My girl friend is OK after seeing it happen, shocked her quite bad I think. Thank God she wasn't going pillion. (Small mercys). I try some post some pics.
