Damaged Akro end can - GSXR750

Hmmn, I've been given a carbon fibre end can for my srad, but its damaged around where the strap fits it. Anyone know of the easiest way to repair this? The bikes not a looker, so it doesn't have to be pretty.
I was thinking a strip of aluminium, just wider than the strap, and plenty of exhaust bandage type sealant.

Any help greatly appreciated guys and girls

little bit of fibreglass resin if its just the sleeve, then hide it with the strap

Well,
Bit of fibreglass, covered with duck tape, and a sliver of innertube underneath thestrap just to take any excess vibration, and it seems to have done the job!

Hmm, not so up to speed with the whole uploading photos thing, but ill get the wife to work on it if poss.
Yeah, it was relatively simple, with a so far perfect result!
I finished fixing it last night at 12.30am, and fitted it to the bike at 5.30am before work, well worth the extra effort, sounds beautiful! Just waitin for a bit more sun shine now, before its back to regular use!
