There are loads of different types of bags for the cover, in all sorts of sizes. I use a small one for days out, the tweety I think, and have a larger one or weekends away that holds clothes shoes and has a map pocket. I also have a Toureg that takes a GPS https://www.baglux.co.uk/productinfo.php?code=4894
No problem washing the bike with the cover on either although it is worth taking it off now and then to polish the tank.
I would definitely reccommend them having scratched the tank on my gixer with a magnetic tank bag.

Think pretty much all their bags clip to the covers.
We have several of the standard bags, a tiny bag and a large laptop bag. All do the job well (although one of the standard bags needs a new zip now). To be honest while they have clear covers on the top reflections make it not that easy to read a map quickly (ie, fine if you stop and flatten the clear cover, but don't expect to be able to read the map with a quick glance).
If I am feeling lazy I do wash the bike with the cover in place.

It's about the size of a large rucksack, and is semi-rigid, so it keeps its shape, unlike a rucksack. Stood up well to me sliding down the road on it too. Cost about £80 from Hein Gericke.

No, not a problem. No different than when it rains. A bit of moisture will get under the cover, but they do sort of dry out. As said, it's a good idea to take it off every now and again, to let it dry out fully, and give the tank a clean, and a coat of polish or wax, to protect it.
What bike are you buying it for? If it has a lean forwards riding position, you might find the bag gets in the way a bit. I get on ok with mine, but you couldn't use it expanded. It'd be under your chin  It also causes some wind buffeting around your hea at speed. if you want a good luggage capacity, I would NOT recommend the Medea, as it has this stupid "tidy pocket" that wastes alot of the space inside the bag.
Also, when you first put it on, it might be a bit wrinkly, but just keep the straps tensioned up, and it'll everntually mold properly to the shape of the tank, especially if you leave it to get warm in the sun. Make sure you get the straps in the right places though!
