I've just had a look at the 4DL Brembo front brake setup I bought the other week, the lever was missing, but the little pin that touches the master cylinder piston was still there.

I fitted the reservoir to catch any brake fluid while I pushed the pistons out, they slid back in fairly easily and partially filled the reservoir. The problem I have is when I push on the end of the little pin (using my thumb as a substitute for the lever) it goes into the assembly, but as it comes out brake fluid leaks out. I'm assuming theres a broken seal in there somewhere, but I can't find a repair kit (I've googled for it, but as ever you can't find things if you don't know exactly what to search for!) Does anyone know where I can get hold of a master cylinder repair kit for a 4DL?

Also does anyone know how to get the pad pin out? it looks like a tapered push fit, but it won't come out for love nor money, and I don't want to break it

Hi

Don't think Brembo will sell replacement seal kits for any of their more recent calipers and master cylinders (their excuse is apparently product liability worries). You might be able to get one through Yamaha but not sure.

All the best

Keith
