It's not uncommon for a parent to invent illnesses for their children inorder to gain attention. I'm guessing she hasn't done it for the benefits they were just a perk. Munchaunsen syndrome by proxy is a cruel thing and beyond fucked up.

How come none of the doctors noticed that he didn't have any of illnesses that they were 'treating' him for? Confused

If you were a doctor and someone came to you with a child and they were adament they had a medical condition, but you didn't think they had it. Can you imagine the consequences that would happen if you then sent the kid home and they died of that illness. Is it really worth your medical license or the life of that kid. Better safe than sorry really and the woman played on that.

I'm guessing the mother went to loads of doctors until one of them done what she said.

But doctors are wrong sometimes. My niece was sent home with a cough many times and the doctor said it was just that, a cough. She turned out to have bronchitis and at her age it nearly killed her.

Yeah, but he was in a wheel chair with tubes stuck in his chest feeding him drugs. He's had operations. It's not like they gave him a placebo and sent him home. You'd think they'd want a proven diagnosis before doing that to the poor little bugger. Shocked

To back up her poisonous scam, she forced the perfectly-healthy boy, now eight, to use a wheelchair, carry an oxygen tank and have painful tubes put in his chest to administer drugs.

Dr, my son has cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, a spleen disease and is allergic to sunlight.

Ok, I'll take you word for it. Confused

I'm guessing that she didn't walk into the local gp office and say this.

Quote:

I'm guessing each illness was a seperate event. But note my use of the word guessing lol.

Some people are uber fucked up and to make your son use a wheel chair, have tubes for drugs and stuff like that is beyond forgiveness.

I knew a kid at a school I worked at who's parents forced him to walk with a limp in-order to claim benefits. Eventually walking with a fake limp for so long created muscle problems and the kid did eventually ended up with an actual disability.

My back 'went' last year could hardly walk 10 steps without virtually collapsing and the bastard said "you'll be fine! next!" I wouldn't mind but screwed my back up years ago, and snapped half the muscles in my back and from time to time it'll play up leaving me in agony for about a week at a time. Yet someone I know gets a sick-note for OCD they don't actually have, bastards!

I was abit flippant. I was hinting that it's easy to fool doctors. They trust their patients.

lol @ 3 years!

from what i read in the daily mail the boy does have some ailments and this allowed the mother to make her claims, albeit OTT. i doubt anyone could go to see a doc and get a diagnosis without any sort of symptoms or previous medical conditions, in this case the latter.

also she 'threatened to sue' the docs/nhs trust involved if they didnt believe her. if you have any inside knowledge of the nhs, i worked in it for a while, i could well imagine the panic this threat would've caused.

there's SO MUCH bullshit and political correctness in it. there's bodies for every sort of complaint imagineable. staff are 9/10 suspended before any allegation has been investigated however ridiculous.

3 years. hard to believe.

3 years would be perfectly fine by me if she was subjected to sensory deprevation for the whole time.
Id allow some speakers in the room, they'd be wispering, on loop 'You don't matter' and 'you are unimportant' for five hours a day. Id have night vision cameras in there so i could see the moment the voices turn into some sort of hideous musical number which she couldn't switch off inside her head unless she pounded her forehead against the wall until it stopped.

That happens very quickly in my brain!

Just a few seconds of listening to something like an simple "err--err-err" alarm and it becomes some sort of musical tone with lots of ker-chiks sounds in it. After a time I start hearing the pauses rather than hearing the sound pulse. Shocked

Its really strange and it can be quite entrancing sometimes. To everyone else its just an annoying alarm tho Sad

I assume its something to do with the sound echoing about the room and setting up all sorts of standing waves and interference patterns that my brain decodes into a pleasant sound.

You'd think that at some stage the hospital staff would get suspicious why when he was at the hospital, his results would be perfectly normal, but when he was at home, he got worse. Confused

As sick as it is, and how pathetic she is.

It is full of holes on how the doctors didn't actually find anything. Just because they were threatened to be sued.

I remember reading about this a few months back, three years isnt nearly long enough. Make her go through all the operations and mental trauma that her son, daughter and husband went through. Not to mention the guy on the motorbike who rode past her one day and got slapped with a rape charge which ruined his marriage.

What a nutter.

Also read she had a rape claim against a biker that wreaked his marriage.

Thats actually shocked me, I heard of people claiming their kids where autistic and ADHD but where only badly behaved but this just takes the biscuit. She makes me feel ill. I dont know what mum would want something to be wrong with their child, no extra benefits is worth it but she seems to have truly got everything out like these cruises. Poor kid had to go through pain for her Confused She shouldnt be allowed near him again and when that kid grows up he will hate her guts if he doesnt already now.

And as for the docs, way to go! they cant even spot obvious child abuse where after numerous children where killed and they cant even spot a fake illness. Things should show up in tests and why would they operate if they done tests before hand?? Shocked
