All the reviews I've read (RiDE, BIKE etc...) are fairly positive, with the riders being pleasantly surprised by the bike.
The new GT version (small fairing, centre stand, heated grips etc...) has just come out and is apparently a far better ride than the original version.
The bike has 3 modes (rain/tour/sport) and the only thing the reviewers could fault the bike on was the fuelling in some, if not all these modes. (There is also a button(s) to allow you to change gear conventionally)
I recently rode the Shiver which uses the same fuel system and can confirm I thought it was appalling, but it may be fine on a CVT.
My advice would be to see if you can get a test ride and then you'll know for sure.
As an aside I think it looks like a proper smart bike, and if I could only consider automatics, it would be top of my list. ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

Go for a test ride.
Was at an Aprilia open day the other year there and had a test ride on a Mana and found it a very easy bike to get on with; very comfy, the auto/engine map options are excellent and it could be made to hussle along very respectfully; plus dummy tank will take a full size lid; actual tank is in the tail section.
Only thing that was a bit weird was having to use a handbrake. ____________________ https://www.timhastingsracing.co.uk/

Why are these scooters so heavy
My TDM900 is 190kg dry and the Speed Four is 170kg how can a 125 be heavier than that what did then make it out of lead? Just because your leg is weaker shouldn;t mean you can't do gears it's not like you have to put much force into them to change.
If you are worried about weight get a proper bike, they are much lighter. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.

Were it me, then, I?d seriously consider an aftermarket button-shifter system.
You have to pay a bit more now, but it offers you a much wider range of better value bikes. As far as I know, it?s pretty easy to transfer these between bikes, so once you get it, it effectively opens up pretty much every bike on the market to you.
If you don?t want to use a clutch either, you could look at an EFM clutch system or similar, which gives you an auto clutch on a standard bike.
I suspect the GSXR I recently got costs less than the Mana, definitely weighs less and if you stuck it in second, google suggests actually probably has the same or higher top speed! You can pull away in second ok, so you could just use second and effetively have an auto with a similar range, just needing some clutch use to pull away (and, to be fair, really slow speed (walking pace) town stuff wouldn?t be as good probably, don?t know how the mana handles that). |
