Hey everyone this is my project on my TZR.

I bought it about 2 or 3 days ago. Here it is as listed on gumtree:

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/298145823.jpg

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/298145822.jpg

Not much done to it yet as all work was focused on MOT, got it passed yesterday after failing on brake light and horn not working. What a relief as in my eyes it needs 10x more than that to be road worthy lol.

Not sure quite whats wrong with it yet as when u turn left or right, the steering like sticks as u come out of the corner, it doesnt like just flow back to centre. So if anyone knows whats wrong or has any ideas please say Wink

Bikes in need of a total respray and strip down Very Happy

It needs taxd at end of the month so that to pay aswell but its only ?15 Thumbs Up

The bike has the YPVS fitted and is much faster than my old 02 NSR 125. Never been on a 125 so quick, you just take off a junction and the front wheel lifted through 1st and second like a gp bike Laughing

lots to do to it yet but what u think

Just a quick update.

Went out and started to take the steering apart and just as i got everything set up it started to rain Thumbs Down

Got the nut of the yokes finally and sprayed some duck oil down it and under it. It sorted it out for about 5 - 10 mins but now its started doing it again Mad

Also my bike has now started a first gear hubber. at around 7 - 10k rpm it hardly moves then once u change up it runs smooth through every gear. Anyone have any ideas what would do this?

I didnt get much done as it started to poor but did get some pics of this :

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00384.jpg

to this:

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00383.jpg

also got a new pic of bike as i didnt have any apart from gumtree ones:

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00380.jpg

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00385.jpg

I found some rear pegs in my shed so started to change them over and drill broke ahh Mad so have to charge my cordless drill now Sad

anyway heres a pic of the new one fitted compared to the old one:

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00381.jpg

not much done but what u think?

found out today the tyre was stone flat lol, not even 1 psi in it lol, went to tyre place and i blew it up to 26 psi front and 32 psi back, just need to wait and see if it goes back down Thumbs Down but so far so good. its cured the front end problems, cant believe it was so simple and i never noticed lol

decided it was time to hack my bikes exhaust as im only getting 90 just now Thumbs Down

cut the expansion chamber in the middle and found 2 baffles which i have started to take out and now taking off the welding in mesh kinda stuff with a screwdriver which is taking absolute forever but one sides done. ive also noticed at the end of expansion chamber is a in fitted pip of about 1.5cm diameter which will be coming out and then sealing it back up again. never done much welding before so this will be my first time welding something proper so will need to see how it turns out Question also ive got a laser end can to put on aswell so will update with more pics later

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00388.jpg

one side taken out and other still in to show baffle and mesh Thumbs Down

He's taking the piss as there is no way it will lift the front wheel off power alone.

Well not updated in couple of days so went out yesterday and did some work. I got this to do the tail piece with but soon ran out of mesh so will need to be buy more.

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00392.jpg

Started by grinding the tailpiece down to give it a rough edge to stick to

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00393.jpg

Started to put the mesh on with fillers where it touches the fairings and cable tie other bits of mesh on.

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00395.jpg

Filled most of one side of the bike with fillers. After couple of hours one sides now quite rigid but still needs more fillers on parts and other side done. Then ive got the fibre glass matting to do today if i have time after filler. Ive ordered a rs 125 tailpiece and seat so hopefully it will all look ok once ive finished it all.

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00398.jpg

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00399.jpg

So what do you think? Anyone got better ways of fibreglassing the tailpiece?

Can't honestly say I like the new end can mate, looks like it's for a 400 - 600cc sports bike, and looks a little out of proportion to the rest of the bike IMO

The way you appear to be doing your fibreglass rear end looks like your going to be joining the side and centre panels together, which will make changing your battery a problem. The best bet would be to keep an eye out on ebay for one of the cowls that occasionally pop up.

Eitherway, it's your bike, so it's personal to you Smile do you have a colour scheme planned out yet?

You will never get that tail unit looking any where near even semi-decent.

And how can you not notice an entirely flat tyre! It will have handled like death.

For the seat unit you'd have more joy bodging on a seat unit meant for something else. Trying to bridge the side panels like that will never work, and if it does, it'll look absolutely shocking.

Gaz

thanks for the positivty Thumbs Up lol

to be honest with the tyre i think someone let it down as the kill switch and lights were turned on when i went on that morning.

i made a race fairing for my old cbr before and have just finished converted a skyjet 125 (sports fairing) to a motocross bike which everyone said wouldnt look right but now most people think its good. If the tzr fairing still looks shit when finished ill just get another set of original fairings. keep a watch on the thread to see what u think when its finished. Wink

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00404.jpg

Started taking the mould from back seat in fibreglass

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00402.jpg

What do u think? Still as bad lol?

Heres my new welder, u can see my tiny old blue at the side. will get the other exhaust on later.

Thought i would update while i wait for fibreglass to dry Smile

I cut part of the tailpiece at the back so its round beside the light now rather than square. Quite like it. Mould i made worked:

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00406.jpg

It fitted to bike and fillered into place:

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00408.jpg

One side fibreglassed and now waiting for it to dry:

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00409.jpg

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00410.jpg

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00411.jpg

https://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac217/sean2207/DSC00412.jpg

Was a bit unsure how it would look but i quite like it now its started to take shape.

Very Happy

Dunno whether u on here will like it
