...More bikers "nod" when your riding in full leathers?

I've only just noticed this today since I bought myself some 2 pieces leathers to replace my ageing Lewis Textile Jacket and Knackered Akito Leather Jeans.

And I've noticed nearly all bikers now nod to me, when only a few did before?

It probably may also be down to me cleaning my bike today for the first time in about 3 months too.

i guess they take you more seriously, rather than just some idiot riding in a business suit to avoid the congestion charge or something

i find i get very ignored, because of my bike, i got far more nods on the cbr250 and stuff, but generally this area is pretty stingy for that feeling of "bikers"

The whole nodding thing seems a bit temperamental these days.

I nod to anything with two wheels and a motor! The way I think it should be (unless you're a London courier, too many bikes to nod to all of them!)

I get nodded at by all sorts....I got a wave, light flash and wink the other day...and I was in my car!!! All I did was give the guy a thumbs up Thumbs Up

I love getting nods when I'm on my bike (or in my car!), and I don't have full leathers either.

Q:...I nod to anyone on a bike or ped, are you saying there's "nodding prejudice" going on???? I hope not!!

Yup theres deffo something going on, maybe some people don't like the fact I ride a commuter bike or something?

But it does seem like its bikers from Warrington that don't nod, well I thought they didnt until today. Laughing

Your taken more seriously if you wearing full leathers as has been said, personally I don't nod to mopeds as most of them don't even know about the nod. If a moped nods to me then I have been known to nod back but not all of the time.

In London it's quite hard to nod as you are focussing on not being killed by some twat in a cage!

I usually don't nod to the pizza or scooter boys as they might wave back and fall off.

I was a little peeved tonight when I was heading straight towards a BMW bike on a one lane stretch of the North Circular, I pulled in as I could and he didn't acknowledge! That was a first!

There certainly is, I have all leathers and it is truly a rarity to receive a nod (from sportsbike riders in particular), it makes it such a refreshing change when someone actually does return it! But then I guess that is the bane of having a cruiser style learner bike. Confused
