Hi all,
last night i was the winning bidder on a solo seat for one of my bikes.
i went to pay for it this morning, when i saw there was a notice from ebay saying the seller wantd to cancel the transaction.
i clicked on the see "more details" bit & the seller had added a note stating he had sold it to another buyer.
i had a choice of whether to accept or reject this request.
i rejected it & added a note stating i was the winning bidder & would he please send me an amended invoice withthe correct total.
the total was only showing the amount i had bid & did not include postage.
so if i hit the "pay now" button, the seller wont get the full amount.
as it stands i havnt paid anything yet.
in an earlier email, the seller had stated he would post it for a tenner.
thre was no activity, no bids right until the last minute.(it had a starting price of 99p) so i guess i wasnt the only one using esnipe or similar, lol
what i want to know, is what are my rights?
i know that when it comes to normal retailers like shops, they dont have to sell you anything, but surely ebay has something in their terms & conditions?
or will it just be a case of me giving the guy negative feedback?
or will they ban him? (unlikley)
i wouldnt mind, but its obvious the guy was hoping for more than 16 quid & has now backed out because of this,
if i do hit the pay now button, will i ever see this money again?
or will it strenthen my case?
cheers,
GAZ

thats what the reserve option is for,
and unless it has in the ad its advertised elsewhere...i'd demand you won it fair n square.

Admittedly you are arguing to give him the money.. seems odd really Razz

I'd be livid if i wont something and the guy refused to sell it as it was low!

You could drag him through the ebay dispute procedure, but in reality you're probably not going to get the item.
