Right, decided to get some finally, they will be fit to a Honda Varadero 125. Are the Oxford one's the choice for you guy's or is there another brand you rate more highly? Cheapest I have seen so far is ?65 on the bay of E or can they be had for cheaper elsewhere?

Thanks,

Paul.

Got official Honda ones on mine, but you said you wanted cheap ones - so I guess it doesn't count. Keep my hands toasty though.

I like the symtec ones. They go under your standard grips and are very thin, so hardly add to the size of your grips.

I've never found heated grips that work in all conditions without muffs, but adding on even cheap muffs seems to solve most problems (significantly reducing air flow presumably).

I've got a set of symtec grips to stick on my GSXR, but the Tucano Urbano muffs have been so good I haven't bothered. They're a lot harder to get your hands back in which some don't like - cheap muffs around guards and the grips meant even in the snow etc on my KTM my hands were staying warm.

The digital oxford ones are a pain and keep switching off, at least they did on my old Bandit. I have the Dr Bike ones and I am on my second set, they are crap and the throttle one eventually fails through flexing of the lead.

So, not so much a recommendations list, more a list of which ones I've had problems with Mr. Green

Cheers

Grim

I bought a pair of Oxford Hot Hands (they wrap around the grips) off Ebay - not put them on the Gixxer yet (bought some brill Lidl Winter Bike Gloves last year that have served their purpose and kept my hands warm for all but a couple of days this winter so not felt the need) but was easy to take them off the ER-6 before I traded it.

They got so hot in use that I had to periodically turn them off when sat at traffic lights etc so would recommend (I picked them up for about ?35.00 I think).

The problem with any heated grips etc they keep the inside of your fingers/palms warm but the outside/back hand still suffers the cold (probably feels worse with the contrasting heat on your palms).

Best solution may be to use in conjunction with mitts or deflectors?

Thanks guy's, I've got a set of hand guards to fit the week end which should help as its mainly the tips of my fingers effected the worse. I thought about the hot hands but not sure if I'd find them comfy as they do fatten the grip out a tad, going to have another look at the grips in my local bike shop (BikeRight) to see what there like, ?30 new which may do the job.

Hey there

If you shop around you might get a bargain - I got original hotgrips here

https://www.bikermart.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=OF695

?39.95 compared to ?69.99 at my local bike shop.

I have had the original hotgrips (Oxford) on my 125 vara, and now on my Hornet. I like the simple three setting type and they work great!

had these mentioned to me recently and i gotta say its a very good idea. especially as it means you keep your standard sized grips
