and own two of your model range as a consequence of this. But...

could you please tell me why in the name of holy hell, when designing the TDM 850 (not to everyone's taste but I like it), you thought it necessary to locate the battery in such a place that necessitated removing the whole f*cking top fairing, and tank?!

Just as well I was replacing my speedo cable at the same time, otherwise I'd have had to remove the fairing twice FFS.

Oh yeah, and no oil light or sight window on a bike that the entire oil output of Kuwait is probably supporting. Nice one...

Good bike, reliable, fun to ride and comfortable but an absolute arse to work on. Wonder what I'll have to remove when I do the oil change next week - haven't looked at it yet, but wouldn't surprise me if I have to remove the whole exhaust system, and possibly remove the engine judging by todays experiences.....

This is where someone laughs at me, and tells me how to do the above jobs without pulling the whole thing apart. If you know how, please do. I can deal with the piss taking as not to go through that palaver again Mr. Green

While I'm at it - Datatool....

No option it seems to turn the alarm off according to the manual, so if you haven't ridden it for a couple of weeks the bike won't start.

It does, however go in to "intelligent sleep mode". Yes it does - but only after it's just about drained the battery to empty Rolling Eyes

(no option for an optimate as bike's on the street outside)

I'm convinced that the service I'm doing on my TTR next week is going to take less time to do than the two little jobs today. Stupid bikes Laughing

You should have bought a 900 Laughing Oil light and easy access to the battery plus it doesn't drink it.

and it has more power Laughing

Getting to the spark plugs is a cunt, though. Laughing

My Mk2 battery is in front of the shock.

My Mk2 has a sight glass, although it is a bit awkward to inspect it.

Presumably you have a Mk1?

Just ditch the fairing!
