Strange, I recall doing exactly that a few years back...

Oh there's plenty of terrorists about these days, they're just harder to spot because they all wear suits and have top jobs in Government and Finance.

We need the military on our streets, not for a police role but a coup de'tat! Wink

Cant really compare that to the present day situation can you? The only terror around these days comes from the media Laughing

Im sure having paratroopers in the street will make all the difference Laughing

Is it Germany where the army is totally forbidden to get involved in internal affairs? From what I've heard this is to the extent where their main counter terrorist unit is a branch of the police rather than the army.

Does this mean checkpoints at the end of the high street with a tank and some sandbags, just incase there's a dodgy looking bearded muslim hanging around taking holiday snaps.

Heil Brown!

Why would terrorists go to all the effort of attacking us when they're ruining the country by doing nothing? Laughing

What worries me is the army is full of dirty chavs Neutral I don't think we need any more of them on the streets.

Key words are 'may' and 'could'.

I'll agree it's never been a valid reason, but as has been pointed out it has happened before, and so has internment but that also got voted down last time around, and this big if will also go the same way.

(Whilst I rate the independent for it's impartial journalism, this kind of article is the reason I stopped reading the newspapers.)
