I've always wondered, where does the law stand with pillions and the drink drive limit. I would never take anyone on the back who wasn't in a fit state. But, obviouslly, unlike a car passeneger, a pillion has some effect over the control of the bike, or can just fall off. What does the law say with regards to pillions and drinking? They can be as pissed as they like, or does drink/drive limits apply to them?

i think its down to the rider descression. i.e if there waving thier amrs and legs about put then dangerous, the same as if they where sticking thier head out a car window.

I was always under the impression that the drink drive limit, did apply to pillions. Not sure where I read or heard this, but I remember it because I thought it was slightly odd (albeit logical).
