Doesn't really need a speed camera.
Just linked to one of those LED boards that flash up when you're approaching them too fast.

Of course attaching to a speed camera would generate more revenue. However, cameras about safety aren't they, not generating cash Wink Rolling Eyes

These (or something very similar) have already been tested at the Trandport Reseach Lab about 5 years ago. Some of my workmates went along including one who was a motorcyclist. I was sposed to go but got trapped by floodwater so stayed at home

The motorcyclist asked about bikes going over them as they looked a bit slippery and was told bikes had been tested on them and were fine. When my mate asked one of the other guests, a police motorcylist, to ride over one of the edges after it had been hosed down he declined. Heard nothing about them again till today.

actually sounds like a good idea, why should you have to "damage" your car going over a speed bump when you are doing the limit.

Hi

Not sure there are any electronics to link up to a camera. My guess would be that they just use fluid filled cells links via small holes to a reservior, and speed to fluid can escape is limited by the size of the holes. Hence at lower speeds the ramp has time to compress while at higher speed it doesn't have time to compress.

Down side would be that the time it takes to compress would be dependent on the diameter of the tyre (larger tyre would first contact it sooner before being on top of it). So would probably be far more violent against some scooter with 10" wheels than some large car with 20" wheels.

All the best

Keith
