Did anyone watch this? It was the French version of Weston Beach racing. It was a massively long circuit (and in a way, quite glad I didn't venture over to be a spectator), I really enjoyed watching it on tv, got quite a buzz, it was exciting to watch.

Does anyone here partake in such racing themselves (i.e. physically do it)? Or do we have some avid spectators?

I have been to Weston a couple of times, and really enjoy it. But find it more fun if you go with a group of people. Generally head down and stand near the first dune. Laughing

The French are pretty in to their beach racing and a bit more serious about it than we are I believe - think stuff like converted SVs are often used (more power to keep going at a decent wack on the long straights etc).

I wouldn't mind having a go at Weston some time, have been a few times to spectate and it's pretty good from that side of the fence (and occasionally inside, hopping over to help people out), not sure if it'll be more fun or not actually riding, does look like it'll be quite gruelling.

I have been considering doing it for a few years. If I have a working enduro bike then, but no doubt the broke and busy then - the 690 has the speed, but the weight's going to get very tiring if you get stuck. Saying that, in nasty mud, it does seem to have decent traction, so would be an interesting challenege at least, hoping to do another (normal mud) Hare and hounds or two on it in the coming year.
