Now I doubt that people buying Special Brew want to enjoy this particular drink 'responsibly', nor do I believe it is 'best shared well chilled'... FFS. Have they lost ALL sight of real life? Drink to get pissed, some like to do it fast and alone (9%) some like to do it over a night with friends (5%) and some just like a refreshing beer (3%)... we'll do what we fucking like... and how we fucking like. Shoving bullshit on the tin won't stop this...

The only thing i disagree with what you've said is not sharing chilli crisps. I scoffed a monster sized bag of chilli doritos and was very ill.

Did anyone watch QI last night?

There was a section in that that mentioned that our drinking guidelines for the UK (21 units per week) is actually wrong, In fact dangerous.

Now what amused me is that they said it is dangerously low!!! Apparently when choosing the figure for weekly consumption they basically picked the figure out of the air. This was done to try and show that the UK were doing something responsible towards drinking.

Apparently you are better off drinking quite a few units more but I cannot remember the exact figure.

Many years ago my family and I were on holiday in Hastings, we went to a reasonably 'posh' restaurant, and the waitress/owner camee to take our drinks order.

My father, with his distinctive North East accent asked:

"Do you have any Special Brew?"

The woman's nose wrinkled as if he had just let go the mother of all air biscuits.
